Rain in some parts of central and southern China has hit record highs in recent weeks even though overall precipitation is about 10% lower this year compared with last year.
Water levels on the Yangtze and its tributaries were expected to rise further over the next week, and it warned of major floods throughout the country from June to August.
Some monitoring stations are issuing alerts, with the Wuhan city section of the Yangtze river in central China more than two meters higher than the normal at this time of the year as a result of heavy rain upstream.
Last summer, rainfall reached its second highest level since 1961, triggering flood alerts on major rivers and lakes and bringing water levels at the giant Three Gorges Dam close to their maximum.
For the whole of last year, nationwide precipitation levels stood at nearly 700 millimetres, 10.3% higher than average and up 7.6% from a year earlier, with rainfall doubling in some parts of central and northeast China.

All that water behind the 3 Gorges will produce so much extra electricity, Chinese BTC miners will have a field day, able to crank out so many new coins!

Wondering what is making all that yellow colored water.
If that dam broke it would send china back yrs. I have read that about 30% of their electricity production comes from there.
China would be better off if it’s 3 largest cities took nuke hits than the 3 Gorges breaking.

Well in that photo above, the river sure looks golden.
I believe the water there has always had that disconcerting color.
Of course, a couple of years back, I drove by the James River in Virginia after days and days of heavy rain, and it was as turbulent as all get out and completely the color of light chocolate milk.
They will have a lot of time to get most people further away from it to safety, also because by then the waters wont be near as high.
I hope it goes because it as a good chance of taking out the CCP as they are today.

But i think people overestimate the deathw because the further away the shallower the floodwaters and the more time to get to safe ground/spaces.
And cripple the global economy.

While at first blush it seems like no problem, but look closely at how many goods are made there and we may be better hoping the dam holds until we ramp up us production, which won’t happen with Joseph Stolen in office.
