All that matters is whether they are used against the people or for the people against an illegitimate government. Definitely not soon but 100% likely in the next 32 years.
Compared to the Beretta, its no contest. Beretta sucks as a combat handgun, so the bar wasnt that high to begin with.
Sig makes a good product. I have a 320. I use their 365 as a compact CC. I still prefer my G19 over the 320 just for fit.
Sweet, can’t go wrong with Sig.
Oh, I gotta run out and BUY ONE, RIGHT NOW!! /s
So, are these manufactured at their plant in Portsmouth, NH?
This plant can not hire enough people.
Our armed forces should use American made weapons !!
Just love it!
Lots of training, even through this ammo shortage.
I’ve had two P320 myself, now own a P320 X-Five Legion.
I like these guns. I also have a P365. I also have VP9 and VP40, which are more egonomic for my smaller hand.
Perfect example of government waste. Blow $17 million to pick a standard pistol.
SIGs work. All the time. I very carried and trained with mine for more than two decades now. It’s a “you bet your life” quality of item.
Well, I’m definitely dinosaur, an old one at that, and prefer my old Colt 1911 with 230gr round ball.
But if “forced” to use one of the modern plastic guns, it would most likely be a Glock; G17, G19, G19X or better yet, a G21.
The SIGs are good guns, but I find their bore axis too high for me, not to mention their price.
IMHO, nothing wrong with this selection and it should serve well, though my preference for a service sidearm would be a CZ. I just like the ergonomics better.
I have been looking at this as my new carry gun. Does anyone here have one or have you shot one.
Beautiful gun.
Sig is top quality.
I own some myself (226 was my first gun that I bought in 1992).
But... wrong gun.
1/5 of the dudes we shot (on the battlefield) during the actual combat phase in April 2003 had primitive body armor that is nonetheless effective against 9x19.
It’s not cool, doesn’t make a big hole but if they were using their frigging brain, they would choose a caliber capable of dealing with the proliferation of body armor on the battlefield today, example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FN_Five-seven
It is still 9mm. Aka .345 cal, smaller than 1900 era .38 cal that the M-1911 (.45 cal) replaced.
Which makes me wonder why the Army chose .38 cal revolver to replace the single action Colt in .45 cal? Was it wanting a double action revolver?
