I have been a Minnesota Twins fan for a long time and had season tickets for a number of years. But I am not going back to Target Field–one of America’s great stadiums–any time soon. This is what it looks like these days:
Zooming in on the right field corner:
I have no idea why baseball executives think it is appropriate to celebrate an armed robber, drug addict, petty criminal, arrest resister and sometime porn performer, or why they think this is what their fans want to see. But I have no intention of patronizing a business that does something this clueless.

Yup.
I don’t even listen to games now.
I hope my team loses.
Professional sports.
Slimy, but very professional about it.
It is a beautiful field, I have been there several times as well — cold in April and September! That being said, I think those banners are sponsor paid. USBank and the others certainly are all paying for the visibility — my guess is someone paid good money for that spot and business is — well — business. I figure the whining of racism will be soon that it is cornered in right field instead of straight away center or behind home plate which would give maximal visibility.
But I am with you — I wouldn’t go back with that in the stands.
May the stadiums remain empty and their coffers run dry.
Does Target Field have all trans/prevert bathrooms?
sports are not something I waste time on anymore.
The Twins are tanking right now. Does anyone actually attend their games?
I gave up my MLB.tv subscription this year and won’t be attending any games for the same reason. Contrary to giving up NFL, I do miss watching MLB games. I don’t miss it enough to go back, though.
So if Hamas wanted to put up a kill the Jews banner they would put it up.
Its just business.
You know better then that.
Honestly who cares about this grifter broad?
I used to listen or watch several games a week. Also spent money to get good seats to watch in person once or twice a year.
In early-mid April 2020, i missed opening day and baseball. By Late May 2020 I had practically forgot it existed. I only knew it was back on when I heard a game on the radio one day. I tried watching, but the empty parks with the fake crowd noises was the final straw.
What really gets me, I have friends who are cops and retired cops and they constantly post to social media about going to Angels or Dodgers games. This in a nutshell, is why this country is doomed, our side is to self indulged to fight for their beliefs.
In Brooklyn, hitting the sign earned you a new suit. Does it now get you labeled a racist by Facebook?
‘Warning track’ is now a riot threat from BLM.
They’re not paying tribute to George Floyd.
They’re paying protection to BLM.
I hope my team loses too....the local favorite is the Seahawks....it makes my day when they loose.....their fans are so obnoxious....
It might be a paid advert like the ones next to it, but it had to be accepted by the sales management.
I stopped catering to not just MLB but also the minor league games.
Would go to at least 3-4 games a year to see the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs (and spend no less than $120 each game).
I am done with it. Let them rot and go to he!!.
Yep. It's the "I can't be bothered" attitude that will finally do us in.
If a player hits that sign with a line drive do they win a free suit?
