Scam Involving Purported Suspicious Bank Account Activity September 2020
The Federal Reserve Bank of New York has become aware of a new scam in which fraudsters claiming to be from the Federal Reserve contact the public through unsolicited phone calls and emails. The fraudsters falsely state there has been suspicious activity in a bank account ,,,, They will try to instill fear, possibly by stating there is an arrest warrant for the account holder and claiming that the account holder needs to speak with a Federal Reserve officer immediately.

take the call and waste as much of their time as possible
it’s fun
We’ve been getting these scam phone calls for weeks now in Florida:
1. Internal Revenue Service
2. Social Security
3. Medicare
4. Your loved one kidnapped - ransom
5. Your loved one in jail - Bail
6. now this...............................
Better yet trace the call and out the caller.
Good luck with that, cause with my caller ID, if it comes up Unknown Caller or someone/something I don’t recognize, no answering that call. Ditto for my email.
Oh, and I forgot:
7. Credit Card Company, VISA, MC, Discover, Capitol One - Your account has been hacked
8. Amazon - A $1200 iPhone has been charged to your account (we don’t have am Amazon account)....................
I agree. I see these pain-in-the-ass calls as pure entertainment.
They use ‘Spoofing’ software. they are not that stupid..............
Ah, the old Bank Examiner con. Probably as old as banking.
This is the latest robo call version-
“Hello this call is from law enforcement unit of federal reserve system we have found suspicious activity from your banking accounts into which there is a legal case being filed under your name and there is an arrest warrant being issued for the same in order to talk to an officer from law enforcement unit of federal reserve system please press one and hold the line.”.
Busted a gut laughing at this retarded Happy Meal.
Hi there citizen this is your secret state police calling to inform you we are going to arrest you so don’t like leave town or anything ya gullible numnuts.
waaaaahahahahaaaaaa
They freak my wife out with their BS.
I tried to explain to her the situation, but she still freaks out when they call...............
Worked for me.
I have little sympathy for ayone stupid enough to pick up a call from someone unknown.
Better yet trace the call and out the caller

All traceable to Indian call centers using VOIP software.
Lots of YouTubers out this trash.
I got a letter the other day re potential fraud on one of my credit cards, including the last 4 digits of the card number.
The letter directs me to call a number.
I’m not stupid, but many are. An irony, given literally my last comment in another thread.
time to change your card
I get a new card every year or two
It’s a bit of a pain to redo all your auto-pays but better safe than sorry.
I did have a $700 theft on one of my cards in the past
I string them along for a whiles to learn that I have somehow rented a car in the state of Taxess. Then I ask them them if their mother is still feeding them with her left hand. Flips these dirty little bhenchods right out. They revert to potty mouth eight year olds.
Florida Public Utilities Commission
Date, time, trace, recorded message.
The feds may be as useless as lace panties on a warthog in heat in north Georgia but our FPUC is pretty good.
LOL - that’s a good one
I had heard of calling them bhenchod makes them quite unhappy, but the ‘left hand’ thing is new- i’ll have to try that one.
