There is an upside to the media's extreme closeness to Democrats. They can tell us how Democrat insiders really feel about their chances to pass legislation. On Thursday, Politico signaled that not one, not two, but THREE major bills were doomed to fail in Congress.
The first major bill that seems doomed is the H.R. 1 bill for federalizing elections, as you can see in "Black Democrats urge party to shift its voting rights push."

Wasn’t DC going to become a state this week? What happened?
K. I’m happy they are likely doomed. I’m not believing they are giving up for a second though. In fact, the closer we get to 2022 elections, the more I’m concerned these poison pills will make it through.
Oh it’s there.
1. Down goes Frasier!
2. Down goes Frasier!
3. Down goes Frasier!
They’ll eventually get it, they play the long game. They just wear down their opponents over time.
They do not have 60 Senate votes to pass. We still have some semblance of a Constitution.
“They do not have 60 Senate votes to pass. We still have some semblance of a Constitution.”
The Dems are well on their way to correcting that situation.
Only one RAT Senator is keeping the Filabuster alive. That is all that is standing between us and dictatorship.
If DC statehood passage looks iffy, maybe they would settle for no statehood, but they get 3/5ths of a senator.
Since you’re feeding them, why wouldn’t they keep pushing their issues?
It’s a great gig. Conservatives pay for all of this so Liberals can devote 100% to agitation (when they’re not playing with themselves).
1. HR1
2. The “infrastructure” bill
3. DC statehood
You’re welcome
Need to add:
4. Packing the Supremes
5. $15 minimum wage
Need to add:
6. The federal congressional “PRO” bill by which donkey party pols seek to nationalize California’s legislative obliteration of the so-called “gig economy” by converting independent contractors who wish to remain their own bosses into employees.
True, but the filibuster is a Senate rule and not subject to Constitutional review. It all boils down to whether or not Schumer is willing to go nuclear. If he does it is game set and match for the socialists.
The 2 NH Dem Senators, shockingly, also came out against packing the court. So at least that covers for the idiots Murkowski and Romney.
Last I checked both Sinema and Manchin were not onboard for ending it.
7. Assault weapons ban / gun control
I think they’ve already given up on this one. If they thought it had a chance, they wouldn’t have resorted to executive orders.
Why not blow the filibuster and jam it thru?
Are they worried that one Dem will break ranks?
