I’d be interested in reading some serious research about black mothers giving their kids these ridiculous invented names. They are deliberately alienating themselves from the rest of society.

I know some people who moved across the river into Southern Illinois—Alexander County, county seat, Cairo. While they weren’t in Cairo itself, miles away, in fact, it got to the point where they thought they were the only taxpayers in they county and moved from their country home back into Missouri.
A lot of East St. Louis’s problems are geographical. St. Louis, MO rises up from the river, while the east side is pretty flat—basically flood plain. We have the same situation further south. Cape Girardeau, MO rises up from the river, while East Cape Girardeau, IL gets flood waters every spring.

My father lived in Newark briefly in the late ‘60s (one of the few Whites moving in when most were heading out). He didn’t concern himself with racial matters, although he almost got killed there. He was walking past a high-rise housing project and someone tossed a tv out their window/balcony and it just missed his head. Had it found the target, I would not be here. He moved to Lower Manhattan shortly after.
