The world’s richest man and liberal Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos broke his silence to advocate for President Joe Biden’s plan to hike the corporate tax rate from 21 percent to 28 percent.
The Amazon CEO released a statement April 6 praising how “[w]e support the Biden Administration’s focus on making bold [multitrillion-dollar] investments in American infrastructure.” Bezos attempted to seem bipartisan, but then slipped a little note in parentheses that underscored his liberal political bent: “We recognize this investment will require concessions from all sides—both on the specifics of what’s included as well as how it gets paid for (we’re supportive of a rise in the corporate tax rate).” Bezos is supporting the same “corporate tax rate” that the Tax Foundation had tweeted March 17 was “the most harmful tax for economic growth.”

Amazon doesn’t pay them
Corporations do not pay taxes. They collect them.
Sure. Higher taxes are just another barrier to entry for Amazon competitors.
Apex predators of the corporate ecosystem don’t give a hoot about tax rates and business regulations because they have armies of lawyers to navigate them as painlessly as possible while start-ups and small business do not.
It should be the goal of the MAGA nation to grind Amazon, and other global corporations, into the dust.
“ Corporations do not pay taxes. They collect them.”

The notion of taxing those big bad corporations has a nice ring to it to folks that don’t know better. But sadly, there’s no such thing as a corporate tax that’s paid by corporations. Such taxes are rolled into the cost of doing business and are thereby passed onto the customer in their sales prices. Example; Bezos is yapping a lot stating he’s ok with higher corporate takes and capital gains taxes. What Bezos isn’t saying is that he believes his business model is so ingrained in the consumer that he will be able to pass this additional cost on to his customers (that would be you and me) with no adverse affect on his sales or profits. I’m guessing he’s right...
The other reason he doesn't care, is because taxes may drive his competitors out of business.
He doesn't cate if Americans go out of business, as he will just turn to China, or other countries to supply goods to sell online.
Bezos is supporting the same “corporate tax rate” that the Tax Foundation had tweeted March 17 was “the most harmful tax for economic growth.”

Amazon is going to strangle any remaining competitors using the government as their agent. They already got the government to destroy 1,000s of small businesses thru the lockdowns.
Skinhead snakehead slithers away
Corporations don’t pay taxes. They just pass them on to the consumer. If Amazon were to lose their consumer, watch Bezos sing a different tune
Stop buying from Amazon - they hate you (see tag line)
Amazon’s tax rate (percent of net income)
2019: 0.7 of 1 percent of net income
2018: zero
2017: zero

plus, I looked up the company’s net income for 2019 too calculate its tax rate
Exactly so. Corporations simply raise the price of their goods and services to cover tax increases. People are so stoopid. But that’s the way government and corporations like it was high is why schools no longer teach economics or civics any longer.
like it was high = which is why
Damn auto correct!
Corporations do not pay taxes. They collect them.
<<>>
They are collected from customers, from employees in
the form of less wages, or the stockholders lose
dividends. Only people pay taxes.
If you want to know why the postal service can’t deliver the regular mail on time, it’s because Amazon has a special agreement with them. The USPS prioritizes all of Amazon mailings over their own priority mail. I heard this directly from the mouth of a USPS supervisor when I called to complain about a priority package I mailed, taking 10 days to get to a sorting facility 2 1/2 hours away. Because of the virus, more people are buying items from Amazon that they would normally go out to a physical store to buy. This has created a higher rate of packages being shipped by Amazon, and the post office is processing those Amazon packages first before they process the rest of the mail. Junk mail gets to you before any USPS priority packages will.
gee. What could Amazon have to gain by insisting on lockdowns and raising taxes?
