That’s not to say that there won’t be some defendants facing serious prison time. Thanks to video, some of which got published by the participants themselves, investigators have identified individuals who took part in assaults on police officers and can charge them with felonies. Thanks to extensive social-media postings, they have also identified organizers of violence. The Oath Keepers and Proud Boys contingent were a small minority of those who charged the Capitol, however. Most of the people who entered the building presumably just took advantage of the situation. That doesn’t alleviate their legal liability, but it also doesn’t make them part of a grand insurrection conspiracy — as prosecutors and administration officials claimed publicly.
That’s the problem that the White House will now face, Politico’s legal analysts Josh Gerstein and Kyle Cheney write. They fumbled the expectations game, choosing the immediate benefit of stoking outrage over the long-term credibility issues that failure to deliver will bring....

The article seems to be lamenting the fact that despite the government’s exaggerated charges, only a handful may go to jail, while still ignoring that BLM’s peaceful protests actually destroyed buildings and killed people.

Overcharging and boilerplate charging. They were even charging people that just happened to be in the area and had no involvement.
1. Who gave the Capitol police the general stand down order? John Candy's character in National Lampoon's Vacation had a more effective perimeter defense of Walley World than the Capitol Police had of the Capitol.
2. Who shot Ashli Babbitt and why? He or other officers were not in immediate danger of life or limb and apparently he did not give her any warning - and that's in addition to shooting into a crowd.
Biden is an illusion. He is just saying what is in his earpiece, reading from a teleprompter, signing what ever paper they tell him to sign. Everything he does is an act even the stuff he does that is real.
It really boggles my mind how people attribute normal thoughts and emotions to him. He has dementia. Have you ever lived with someone who has dementia? I have. Grandma and step grandma and my mother all had it. Step grandma was in her late 90’s but grandma and mom were early 80’s. They had some idea about what was going on around them but they kept going back to the same point over and over. It is difficult as hell to deal with.
The people that are puppeting Joe are putting up with him because they have to not because they want to. They are just Biden their time until they can shuffle him out of office and put Harris in and add Hillary as Vice President. Biden could never have stolen that election, neither could Harris. But the Clinton machine has all the quid that the Democrats quo pro can handle.
And it wasn’t particularly “violent and disturbing”.
add To the list: Who actually incited protesters to go into the Capitol building? We know that AntiFA types smashed windows all summer, then slipped away as local thugs did the looting. It would not be surprising if something similar happened on January 6.

Democrats still aren’t embarrassed by the RussiaGate myth they pushed.
A woman caller on talk radio said she was peacefully walking past the Capitol building on January 6th with many other people.
A handful of individuals broke away from the group and started to break windows on the Capitol doors.
She said that she and others shouted at the group, “Stop, Antifa, Stop!”

It’s an increasingly common practice, especially among known corrupt departments and DAs.

My point, which wasn’t very clear, was the court corrected the wrong in Waco. I am not so sure about the DC court.
The Waco biker case *still* isn’t over. While charges have all been dropped, Waco has refused to release seized property, has sold some of it off including cars, trucks and motorcycles, and there are over a hundred lawsuits still pending. Waco has also refused to file paperwork that would clear people they dropped charges against, causing problems with background checks and security clearances - and causing additional mistaken prosecution of those improperly arrested.
The question of qualified immunity for Abel is still going through the courts today.
There are still many wrongs uncorrected in the Waco case.
I hope that she and her friends or at least some other people have video of these actions. They would be very helpful in any trials.
