....An Edelman poll published by Axios shows that for the first time, a majority of the public distrusts the mainstream media.
56% of Americans agree that “journalists and reporters are purposely trying to mislead people by saying things they know are false or gross exaggerations.”
58% of the public agrees that “most news organizations are more concerned with supporting an ideology or political position than with informing the public.”
Democrats are far more easily cowed by the corporate media than Republicans, with 57% of the former still supporting the disgraced institution and only 18% of the latter accepting the mainstream media’s lies.
Analysis of previous Edelman polling reveals that the media’s utter loss of credibility has accelerated in recent years, only receiving a brief boost during Trump’s presidency....

They haven’t been “mainstream” in decades.
To be fair, Mainstream media does get a 98%. 98% corrupt.
I’m guessing that people sort of notice the inflation in food and gas. They vaguely hear rumors of tax hikes. If they haven’t inserted their head in their hind parts, they sort of notice something is wrong with Biden.
But the media is all in with the support of Biden & Co. You can only get away with peeing on someone’s leg and telling them it’s raining for so long.
Sadly, I don’t think this will result in converts. It will just result in a general uneasy feeling in the public.
Every so often I watch NBC News evening edition. Trouble is, there is seldom any news— maybe a weather report on a flood or a storm somewhere. Otherwise it is all programming to advance the Narrative. When Trump was still in the White House it was egregiously obvious, whole editions devoted to the Rona and how badly Trump was handling it. Now, instead of a body count, they report on how many millions got vaccinated today.
Funny how that happened. They got rid of the death tracker on the screen too.
98% corrupt might not be far off mark...
Who are the 18% of Republicans still buying into INGSOC media? Is it the Bush/Cheney family?
The 18% are dummies for still believing the supposed “news”, etc.
All Bush/Cheney (s) are EVIL purporting themselves to be good, and purporting themselves to be patriotic, etc.!!
The MSM always tilted left, but the tilt became a full bow around the time Obama first ran for president. That was a turning point at which the MSM threw off its last pretense of fairness and objectivity and decided it was its primary job to unabashedly promote one side’s narrative and demonize the other’s.
I view "mainstream" as a reference to market share, not to content. Because you are right, the content is far left garbage.
They have been “mainstream” leftist zombie freaks!
North Korean “news” has more real information.
Who will prove that telling the truth about conservatives can be profitable?
No, they haven’t.
They havent been the Media for a long time either. They are ‘Progressive’ Activists.
When George Stepanopolis can get a gig as a news man?
When Donna Brazille can be pawned off as a news person??
When Dan Rather can try to use discredited info to discredit a president??
I can go on for an hour or so citing many examples of “journalists”, bias.
This is an absolute lie: It’s not the “first time” that a majority distrusts the Propaganda Media and the percentage of those who distrust the media is over 80%. Other than children and the senile, EVERYONE knows how the propaganda machine works.
To lie, omit, misstate and outright fabricate. Gaslight for those in.......

First time below 50%? I don’t believe that for 1 nanosecond. It was already well under 50% decades ago...
Yep. They’ve been biased as hell for as long as I can remember back to the 1970s. But when Obama came along they stopped even pretending to be balanced. You couldn’t have pried his junk out of their mouths with a crowbar.
