During a patriotic cruise through Salem, Oregon, several black bloc clad antifa terrorists turned out to head off what they, for some reason, think are a bunch of racist white supremacists, one old man got caught up in fray. His truck was pummeled by debris, shattering windows and hitting him. As he gets out of his truck, the terrorists continue to throw objects at him as they close in. Surrounded and under direct threat, the old man draws his pistol and racks a round.
Now the big bad antifa thugs realize they’ve messed with the wrong guy, and they quickly back away, while continuing to yell at him.
Seconds later police come running in. Not to head off the violent antifa thugs, no no. After all, this is Oregon we’re talking about here. Cops draw their weapons and order the old man to the ground. He tosses his gun into the bed of his pickup truck as he hits the ground, arms outstretched. Riot cops come running as the old man is ordered to stay down and lock his fingers above his head.
The antifa militants cheer on the police as the old man is arrested. All for not wanting to become the victim of further violence from antifa.
There are multiple video angles of the incident:

I heard that though he was detained at first, he was not arrested.
I heard that though he was detained at first, he was not arrested.
But then, this IS GP.
I think most cops are going to neutralize anyone on the scene with a gun first and foremost.
Stay out of Oregon is the message I got from this. That man should sue the state or municipality for every dime they have. A shoot-on-sight order for Antifa thugs might be in order, too.
Whoever, under color of any law, statute, ordinance, regulation, or custom, willfully subjects any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured or protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States, ... shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if bodily injury results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include the use, attempted use, or threatened use of a dangerous weapon, explosives, or fire, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.
Way past time to invoke this law, and start using this liberally.
A baseball bat carried into a “protest” is a weapon. Why didn’t they disarm them FIRST?
The NY Post reported he was not arrested and he was arrested in the same article. So for now we don’t know unless the police department publishes arrest information.
Oregon is joining California in being Hell on Earth.
America the world’s greatest super power where the police are street muscle for criminals.
Antifa = Stalinism.

When is the LAST TIME a government official was tried, much less convicted, under this law?
I think none of us will be surprised when we finally find out just what the percentage is of every day cops that have thrown in with antifa and blm. Especially in East Coast / West Coast cities
SMH
The cops were told what to do. They know their job depends on them giving a free pass to criminals of antifa and blm. They have been instructed that innocent, non-violent people are to be delivered to the street mobs so they can have their way with them.
This is oregon - Portland is where there street mobs were in control and allowed to burn, destroy, attack, assault and steal.
BTW, it’s going to happen again this summer. Only this time the goal is to get Whitey to willingly accept having his money sent to people who hate him and have been living off his money for years. (Reparations.)
I have grown to be heartily tired of GP.
Because Antifa and BLM are the militant arm of the Democrats, the Powers What Is. The cops were there to protect then.
When has this law ever been invoked?
What’s the point in having a law on the books, if there are zero charges placed, citing the law? We can both think of instances where this law could easily be used, and the cited penalties are extremely harsh (compared against the mild hand-slap that is typically administered).
Which is my point entirely. Let’s start dropping this one, and letting various scumbags defend their very LIVES against the penalties this law would cause to be forfeit. For example, politicians that allowed illegals to murder a family, would have their lives become forfeit.
I could live with that.
If you're just going to waive it around to scare them off, then you've screwed up.
Sticking around to argue with them was another mistake. He should have left.
