The U.S. Army rejected an appeal to reinstate military service decorations and a Special Forces Tab for retired Maj. Matthew Golsteyn. Golsteyn faced murder charges for killing a suspected Taliban bomb-maker in 2010 but President Donald Trump pardoned him of the charge before his case went to trial.
“The Army Board for Correction of Military Records, the service’s highest level of administrative review for personnel actions, has considered and denied Matthew Golsteyn’s application,” Army spokesman Lt. Col Gabriel J. Ramirez told American Military News on Thursday. “Privacy laws prevent the Army from disclosing specific information regarding the Board’s decision.”
Golsteyn’s decorations included the Silver Star, the third-highest U.S. military honor. Golsteyn earned the award for heroism during the Battle of Marjah in Afghanistan.
According to Task and Purpose, the Army had previously approved upgrading the Silver Star to the Distinguished Service Cross, the second-highest military decoration behind only the Medal of Honor.

On Jan 6, we were not outraged when a government employee murdered Ashli Babbitt. The general response was: “Sorry! Sorry! Sorry! We are bad! So bad! Never should have happened! Sorry! Sorry!”
If we are serious, we might want to rethink that sort of thing and maybe try to rally a little more next time.

Thanks!...but, I’m really not, just ask my wife & kids. But, I do know a little bit about how government works because I was in the military for over 20-years. So, even a blind squirrel understands that miserable bureaucracy after so long.
That won’t happen anytime soon because we have too much to give up. I’m 51, have an awesome job and getting ready to put kids through college. I’m wanting to retire. I’m comfortable.
Now, if something were to happen where comfortable folks like us were made to be very uncomfortable, well, that might change things.

It was his brother the lawyer that got promotd. The Vindman that lied about Trump to the House retired but he and his brother are trying to get him back in and promoted. With the crap leadership we are seeing in DOD and the Army now, that is entirely possible.
The US military has gone completely leftist and woke at the top of the command structure. Some major house cleaning needs to be done or we will never be able to defend ourselves. I suppose we are perfectly poised to fight any new endless wars without winning though. I guess that is what they want.
I’m about 10 years ahead of you. Oldest is through grad school, now in medical residency. Doing well. Youngest is a senior in college. Already working. No college loans. Very woke, unfortunately.
This is the point in life where I sit back and feel the satisfaction of raising a family, sending off that new generation, and feeling that I accomplished what a man is supposed to accomplish.
And I look around and I think, “My kids are getting crap. What a raw deal. My God we screwed up. It’s all been a massive failure.”

I know what you mean but if you took a poll of the majority rank and file military, huge numbers supported Trump.
President Trump was ever allowed to gain full control of the federal bureaucracy thanks to the Uniparty. After everything that's happened and a little bit of time for perspective on the past four years it's impossible to claim otherwise.

I used to work for a company that hired a lot of recent veterans. Over all, the officers were anti Trump and over half the enlisted were also.
