Coroner questions state’s COVID-19 death tally, seeks statewide audit

State officials have recorded 21,000 confirmed COVID-19 deaths in Illinois since the outset of the pandemic.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention listed 19,893 deaths through the end of February in Illinois where COVID-19 was listed among multiple causes. Of those deaths, about 1,830, or 9.2 percent, had COVID-19 listed as the sole cause of death.

That percentage is higher than it was in September 2020 when the rate was about 6%.

But a county coroner is calling for a full audit after reviewing some of the deaths in his county.

“My concern is, I’ve reviewed several cases, (of 100 cases) about ten of them here in Monroe County, that the state has deemed COVID-related deaths and none of them have had underlying conditions or contributing factors to COVID,” Monroe County Coroner Bob Hill said. “So my concern is no matter when the person was tested positive, the state is automatically giving them a death classification as related to COVID.”

He said one case in January was an accidental drug overdose, but the decedent had tested positive for COVID-19 in October.

“As soon as that death came across to the state they went ahead and classified and put a statistic as a COVID death,” Hill said.

The Illinois Department of Public Health said coroners with questions about death classification information should contact state officials.

“Once IDPH has a chance to further investigate the data, connect with local health departments about specific cases, review death records, and conduct other quality assurance measures, the data may change,” a department spokesperson said.

“A confirmed or probable COVID-19 case will be considered if: Death is within 30 days of symptom onset,” among other factors, the department said.

Hill said that has not been the case in Monroe County.....

“He said one case in January was an accidental drug overdose, but the decedent had tested positive for COVID-19 in October.”

Succinct and clear.

Numbers are inflated.

Completely ridiculous to call this death COVID-19 related.

Or maybe not. There are indications that many cases/deaths have been overlooked. I doubt there will be any significant differences.

This is an attempt to make the Gravy Train for libtard state governments that cannot budget and are seeking an opportunity to cash in for their sins.

Monroe County Coroner Bob Hill is a very brave man. I expect he will get a lot of pressure “to walk it back.”

Paging Kozak.

Oh, I know it won’t matter to him. His fake butchers bill just keeps piling fake stats on fake states.

Did I mention the numbers are fake?

Only 6 percent are dying from covid alone , says the CDC.. The other 94 percent had other health issues.. like obesity, heart attack, stroke, cancer, motorcycle accident, murder ..

Don’t overlook the erosion of public trust caused by misclassification of deaths.

Public officials had only one chance to get it right. After that, nobody trusts them, their motives or their data.

From Fauci on down this has been a bureaucratic cluster—ck on how not to do public relations.

The more the government elite treat the citizenry like recalcitrant children, the more citizens act like it. Now we are in a spiral of broken trust because the elite demand our respect and trust while refusing to grant us the same.

And these over-educated self entitled pissants are convinced that it’s us rubes that are the problem.

Of course, we are the problem. Things would be so much better if we’d just do as we’re told. After all, they only have our best interests at heart. (sarc)

But, I disagree that public officials only have one chance to get it right. I suspect they would get a second/third chance if they respected the rest of us sufficiently to admit they made mistakes.

That’s a good way to be.

What mechanisms are there to determine the validity of either argument?

For the inflated argument there is the audit where examples of false attribution, such as the accidental overdose in January being attributed to a positive test for SARS-2 virus in October, can be found.

What mechanism will find false negatives? What would find people who died of Covid but were not reported as dying of Covid?

The false positives will get all the press while the false negatives will only rarely be discovered.

I believe that the after action reports, say four/five years in the future, will provide the most interesting reading.

When the Hospital gets a lot of extra money for caring for a Covid patient, of course they are going to put down Covid as the reason for death whatever they can. I do not know any other country in the world that has the government sending extra money for Covid hospitalizations. Then there is the political aspect of it though I think this is less than the extra money.

One County Sheriff here in Colorado found that some gunshot victims had been classified as COVID. These statistics are utterly corrupted.

What is the mechanism to discover false negatives?

I’m curious how you think Covid deaths were not attributed to Covid in 2020.
