Since Antifa and BLM have yet to be punished for billions of $$ of damage and ~20 confirmed deaths/murders; I think it is safe to say that this society has opted for your second choice. Which is why my wife and I are now armed and ready to defend our household by any means necessary — which is exactly why the Founders put that 2nd amendment in there as a right of any human — not something granted by some government.

Officer made many mistakes in this stop which eventually allowed the woman to get a gun from the car and shoot him under his body armor..
I can see no impressions in the skin tight shirt that he was wearing body armor/bullet proof vest.
Female suspect ... slow down and get backup NOW and need a female officer.
He should have closed the car door once she was out.
Once he had evidence to arrest her he should have been able to physically handle and cuff her for his and her safety.
Number one.... he was not physically able to be on patrol or even an officer. His father had been an officer for many years... may have had something to do him being in uniform.
It is a textbook train video on what NOT to do in a stop.

Drew a handgun from a felons car (wanna bet she didn’t have a conceal carry?)
Officer told her to put the gun down. She shot first hitting the cop.
Officer returned fire
She fled the scene and eventually ran off the road.
Sorry being black with blackattude does not make you above the law.
Well, that is just plain sad. The officer did indeed perform a terrible stop. First and foremost, he should have done nothing but keep her behind the car until his backup arrived. Everything else he did do was the wrong thing to do at the time. That said though, this woman was obviously driving with a loaded hand gun in or near the passenger seat of her car.
No doubt this video can be used for training purposes, it is all wrong.
Woman couldn’t wait to get that cigarette fired up.

The thing that triggered these riots was the MSM reporting of the Floyd demise and spiking the facts behind his condition at the time. Because of that getting those facts out are desperately needed

But the media was not mentioning his size or reporting that Floyd was removed from a squad car because he was acting up under the influence of drugs and also later was discovered to have COVID 19. Which suggests his physical condition may have led to his death which the media turned into a murder change and a charge of serious abuse by police because of police efforts that were tried to get him who under control. The results of politically induced miss reporting incidents where blacks have resisted legitimate arrest began to be used earlier during and after the post Zimmmerman trial, then on to the Ferguson episode. Obama’s abuse of the “Bully Pulpit” which seemed to promote resistance to legitimate arrest led to black gangs attacking non blacks found innocently traversing black neighborhoods and to a score of murders or life changing injuries and later attacks of theft and vandalism on local businesses as well as attacks and murders of police officers during that period
Officers are getting killed because they have to hesitate before shooting a black person, fearful that they may trigger a riot.
She had a gun and shot the cop. He then opened fire on her. Any rational human would say that the cop did nothing wrong, and shot her to defend himself, and that the woman deserved what she got.
None of this will matter. If this is the “White shoots black” event of 2021 that the left is looking for, they will tell the media to blow it up all out of proportion and that the riots can begin. Then they’ll have their summer of cities in flames which they will use to segway into reparations.
If I was a cop before, I would not be one now.
Being a cop is like being President Trump or a Trump supporter - the press will just keep gaslighting until the sheeple are convinced.
As noted above, officer grossly obese (to the extent he should not be allowed to wear the uniform) and conspicuously failing to enforce proper procedures to secure the suspect and her vehicle.
She should never have been allowed to reenter her vehicle and she should have been in handcuffs as soon as drugs were found.
As a result of her violent attack on the officer, she’s dead, and he’s guilty of gross negligence for allowing her to retrieve her gun.
