Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft today announced he will not be seeking to fill the open US Senate seat vacated by Senator Roy Blunt. This comes as President Donald Trump’s allies have coalesced around former Missouri Governor Eric Greitens, urging him to run.

Eric Greitens has appeared on Missouri radio, Newsmax, Steve Bannon’s War Room, and Seb Gorka’s radio show in the last 48 hours, and said that he is motivated by the tremendous support from grassroots voters across the state of Missouri.

Although he is a military hero, Greitens shot himself in the foot by having a fling with his hair cutter, who happened to be married to a union member. She made some disgusting accusations which might or might not have been true but her husband took the bait and ran with it to his cronies. It was obviously payback for Missouri making itself a right-to-work state, which quickly reversed itself with a statewide vote. His wife and children are lovely and this was unnecessary behavior, to say the least. He survived accusations of financial misdeeds and resigned, but the stupid and tacky affair did him no favors.

I am sad that Jay isn't going to run as he did an excellent job in cleaning the MO voter rolls and getting a solid state count done before midnight.

This state went for Trump in 2016 and 2020 but Greitens would be the Republican the Democrats could beat the easiest. I love Trump but even I am repulsed by Greiten's low life behavior and don't know if Trump's support would make a difference.

I regularly see Greitens on War Room and his on program on American’s Voice. He appears to be fully supportive of MAGA and Trump. He has the added benefit of be attacked by the left with law suits that got dropped. He’s a fighter. With that said, let’s see who else emerges in primary. Wouldn’t be nice to have 10 MAGA candidates trying to out MAGa each other?

Oh PUHLEEEEEEEZE! Dear God no! Eric Greitens is damaged goods. Any person who screws around on his wife is NOT FIT TO SERVE in this open seat. Eric should not run in this state. EVER! When he ran for governor his ads were so obnoxious “I’m a NAVY SEAL.” blah blah blah... The pubbies split the votes and he wound up with the most votes out of 4 or 5 candidates to take the primary. He is unfit for such an important seat.
