Former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany took a jab at her successor Jen Psaki, saying she didn’t need to do a “ton of circling back” with reporters because she did a lot of research and had access to her boss.
McEnany, who was recently announced as a Fox News contributor, made the comments during an interview with “Fox & Friends.”
And while she said she wishes President Biden’s press secretary well, there was certainly an unmistakable air of reasoning on why McEnany was more forthright with answers during her tenure at the White House.
“I wish Jen Psaki all the best, it is a very hard job,” McEnany said. “But that being said, we took great pains in our administration to do hours and hours of research beforehand, days sometimes.”

And that’s because your administration was under constant, unwarranted, unfair attack.
Psaki is just chatting with some very close friends. Any answer, or no answer is acceptable and unchallenged.
Exactky. They’d never let her.
Psaki has to circle back frequently because when she gets to the back, Geriatric Joe is not having a lucid interval, and the Presidential Committee has to meet to make a command decision.
Thats the thing about committees, when things are not working they do not change, they keep on going down the drain.

In other words, “Good luck Jen. You’re gonna need it.”
Lol.
Kayleigh always has a massive binder handy, filled with prolific details on any subject hostile reporters might ask about (likely with a “gotcha” intent).
Embarrassing to see her replacement is so clueless, relying on “circling back” as if obvious questions were unexpected.
Someone yesterday posted side by side pics of Jen and Kaleigh’s binders. Don’t know if it’s real, but Jen’s looked like a grade-school mess while Kaleigh’s was neat and organized.
But I suppose the press people reflect upon their bosses.
She just did?
I think the fourth ranked definition is most accurate, though not as humorous. It’s been my experience seeing people use that phrase in the past, it’s because they want to be non-committal or even evasive, but need to feign current lack of knowledge/resources as an excuse.
I might start watching Fox again.
OMG. I read the definition.... “sniffs their fingers after going to the bathroom” to see if they need to wash their hands.”
I wash my hands every time. And it’s the first thing I do when I come home.
Could be why I haven’t had a cold in years.
In fairness to Jen, does anyone really have access to Joe anymore. Jen has a lot of other people to ask to find out just what his admin is really doing.
In any private sector job a woman like Psaki with her high school immaturity of ‘circling back’’’ would indicate someone inefficient, disorganized and unprepared. Employers don’t pay a person for such poor performance.
This woman is an idiot. And an arrogant one.
Yeah, a 20 year acquaintance always had to “circle back”. I cannot believe it took me 20 years to catch on to his BS/fear/programming? Dunno. Don’t care now. It’s been 3 years.
One does not get into Harvard Law School through merit (as opposed to one who gets in through other than merit like a certain Kenyan) and thrive there without being extremely well organized.
Another one...an acquaintance...whenever the phone conversation would make him uneasy from my questioning him...he would interrupt and say...I gotta go, I got a call coming in...bye.

Depends on their relative level of authority though. I can see a manager or ‘boss’ using this language with an employee in the private sector.
“Let me check with HR about your promotion and circle back to you” lol
