If this result surprises you, you haven’t been paying attention. – It is no secret that the Republican Party establishment has coalesced behind former Virginia Governor and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley as its’ preferred GOP presidential nominee for 2024. Haley is a consummate creature of the DC Swamp, a RINO at heart who would be very easy for party insiders and funders to manipulate as president. She is basically the female version of Jeb! Bush.
But Amb. Haley will have a very steep hill to climb in order to become the 2024 nominee, if the results of yesterday’s CPAC Straw Poll are any indication. Donald Trump of course came in as the clear front-runner in the poll, but if you assume as I do that he will not be the party’s nominee, given that he will then be as old as Joe Biden is now, there is one clear-cut front runner who Haley would have to find a way to overcome: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

Has the establishment coalesced behind Haley? Like a lot of folks around here I follow the news obsessively. I think that’s just false, dished up to serve the writer’s narrative
The dems would love to see DeSantis go on to the national ticket in 2024. Would really disturb me but he would only have a few years left in a second term so he is the logical choice.
Meanwhile, the commies are going to run that POS Fried, the ag commissioner against DeSantis. The press is all behind her now IMO. Crist said he may run again for Gov but IMO has no chance. So, it looks as though DeSantis
will be the sitting Gov in 2024 in Fl with two years to go on his term.
Rubio will be 2 years into his term if he wins reelection in 2022. Don’t see a realistic candidate against him but even if he wins, he will NOT be the presidential or VP candidate.
If there is a woman on the 2024 GOP ticket, it will be Kristi Noem, not Nimrata Nikki Randhawa Haley.
That’s a really good point. I think the establishment has floated her as a trial balloon, but they haven’t decided on whose turn it is yet.
DeSantis/Candace Owens would be another good one. Make President Trump the AG.....or Secretary of State - lol, that would be amazing
What’s telling is that about 3% of CPAC attendees are swampers, thus her 3% support in the straw poll.
Haley was SC Gov., they are the ones who only elect Cheap Labor Express stooges.
I didn’t notice Candace Owens at CPAC, but I suppose she’s busy being a new mom this year.
“Trump/DeSantis 2024! That’s my dream team. 4 more years of Trump then 8 years of DeSantis.”
That would be good. Considering PDJT’s age, DeSantis would be a strong VP “just in case”. Then DeSantis/Pompeo or Noem. We do have some excellent conservatives in the wings. I also like Gaetz because he’s bombastic, patriotic, and steadfast — much like Trump. But maybe later.
Thank you.
“Has the establishment coalesced behind Haley?”
I think the establishment GOP, i.e., globalist elite GOP, did coalesce behind Nimrata, but that may have faded some. With PDJT front and center now, they’re confused. People like Mitch could go with Rubio or similar.
South Carolina, not Virginia.
Thanks.
Kristi Noem reminds me of Ronald Reagan - when he gave his 1976 Republican Convention speech. I knew then, he was our guy. I believe that she is, now, our gal.
Re-electing Assistant Democrats like Rubio is counter-productive to MAGA.
Flip the ticket and ok. We can’t have basically a mayor as presidential candidate. We need a large state Governor who has been tested. Not a 876 thousand population where most mayors have more people to lead.
Oh brother comparing a California Governor with South Dakota Governor? Not even remotely the same.
South Carolina.
The rinos need to leave the Republican party.
