People are getting stupider, it’s a scientific fact

The “Flynn Effect” is the phenomenon identified by intelligence researcher James Flynn. He found that average intelligence quotients, or IQ’s, as measured by standardized tests were steadily increasing through the course of the 20th century.

That sounds quite natural because, after all, each generation gets better nurturing. They get better health, improved medical care, more nutritious food and greater schooling.

But IQ is supposed to be mainly about nature, not nurture. Nurturing can certainly affect a person’s well-being, but in theory it doesn’t change a person’s IQ much (except of course when the nurturing is so bad that it produces negative neurological effects).

Flynn and other scientists puzzled for years over the reasons we kept getting smarter. Even as scientists themselves along with everyone else got smarter and smarter, they still never managed to figure out why.

Now they have a reverse Flynn Effect to figure out. In recent decades, average IQ’s have gone down, not up. For those of you who are personally experiencing this reverse effect, I’ll put it in simple terms: People are getting stupider....

Because of generous cash, health and housing support, for at least the last 70 or 80 years (and likely for some time before then) women with lower IQs have been encouraged by the government to have bigger than average families. These supported-by-the-taxpayer babies (largely “fathered” by equally low IQ males) have become an increasingly larger percent of each subsequent American generation resulting in declining average IQs.

Socialist government programs enabled stupid people to breed with other stupid people and their offspring was even dumber. Repeated every 15-18 years, the numbers exploded.

Meanwhile, the more intelligent people were burdened with paying for all of it and could afford fewer children and were having them later, at 30-35 years of age.

Those same intelligent people though were procreating with other intelligent people having even more intelligent children so you have smarter and smarter individuals surrounded by increasing numbers of idiots.

Excerpt:
We’re on the brink of a slow-motion apocalypse. A generation or two from now, humans may live in a world where they still have access to amazing old machines left over from a smarter civilization, but lack the brains to make new ones or even service the old ones. A generation or two later, after all the old miracle machines have worn out, feral humans may wander the burnt-out ruins of the civilization we left them, like barbarians gawking at the wonders of Rome.

From those ruins, merit will be rise again. Because merit rewards the meritorious. In the meantime, welcome to the new Dark Ages.

Why? That is the question and I think the answer, while not something to measure scientifically, is Hope. Up until recently there has always been Hope, but now we seem more Hopeless than Hopeful. I believe the height of Hope was reached with the inception of the US Project Orion and began its decline with the Apollo program. I’m not going to argue this further, as anyone with half a brain can figure it out for themselves - assuming they can think and have average intelligence.

More brainwashed people. That’s the thing about brainwashing, people don’t know they are brainwashed.

Our modern education system was imported from Germany in the late 1800s, part of the “progressive” movement that influenced people such as Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson.

“But IQ is supposed to be mainly about nature, not nurture.”

What government grant covered this study?

IQ, short for intelligence quotient, is a measure of a person’s reasoning ability. In short, it is supposed to gauge how well someone can use information and logic to answer questions or make predictions. They measure how well people can solve puzzles by recalling information they’ve heard. Every student can learn, no matter how intelligent, if the teaching capacity and program directives are workable.

IQ is about learning. Learning is about teaching and topic. If you dumb down people for 2 or 3 generations, the IQ does go down. But the capacity doesn’t. The mind becomes a starving animal. And it stops living without fuel. So it they teach nothing, the student learns at the same level. And is able at some point to provide nothing for survival it never got. They become clay.

"Our modern education system was imported from Germany in the late 1800s, part of the “progressive” movement that influenced people such as Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson."

The key feature of German & most other countries' education which distinguishes them from American is their practice of sorting & separating out over-achievers at a very young age.
The most talented kids are put in special schools and given special educations (royal jelly, so to speak) in preparation for becoming the country's leaders, while average kids go to average schools to prepare them for lives as worker-bees.

Yes, America's most talented kids do often get separated out and given special attention, but never as systematically or scientifically as in most other countries.

As for Germany's alleged "progressive education", I think most anybody could argue that there was a lot of influences flowing both ways among all countries with European populations.

This has been my philosophy for years:

The reason we have so many idiots running around is that we’ve put warning labels on everything. If you’re not smart enough to keep your hands and feet from under a lawn mower, perhaps you shouldn’t have children...
