The cold was our pride, the snow was our beauty. It fell and fell, lacing day and night together in a milky haze, making everything quieter as it fell, so that Winter seemed to partake of religion in a way no other season did, hushed, solemn. - Patricia Hampl

It's been that kind of winter here in Southern New England. Lots of snow on the ground and plenty of cold. The way winter should be around here.
20 inches forecast for Houston.
We have 5 degrees and light snow in the 4-corners area of KS, MO, AR, OK. Predictions are for 4” to 8” of snow through Monday and a low of -7 Monday night.
This is the coldest winter we have had in several years. Last year, IIRC, we had a few nights in the upper teens as winter lows.
Beautiful paintings. Thanks!
Nice pictures. Reminds me a bit of growing up in Northwestern Minnesota. It’s -22 in my hometown there this morning. Brrrrr!
It’s 57 degrees and partly cloudy here in NE Florida this morning. Gonna make it to the mid-60’s today.
Happy Valentines Day!
This global warming is melting the Earth - while the River Thames is freezing for the first time in 60 years...
There's 16 inches of global warming on my deck as of yesterday afternoon (I went out and measured.)
The snow removal crew here where I live has been very busy lately.
Fake News! Hell is not a hot place. Hell is a cold, snowy, icy place. There is nothing attractive about snow. Snow is a four-letter word not allowed in my house.
Btw, Spring is just 34 days away. 🌴🌻🌴
20 inches???????
Wow!!!

We’re expecting snow for most of the week. Might make it easier to get around.
And last year I had plenty of well seasoned firewood. This year, not enough and it’s kinda green so it doesn’t burn very well. We broke out the Big Buddy propane heater and have it running on full to supplement the wood stove. $20/20lb tank lasts 36 hours. Getting expensive. Ozarks, South of I-44 in Eastern MO. -2 this morning. Can’t get the place much over 60.
When it hits the 30s later this week, I’ll be out in the woods getting all the dead wood I can find. Might drive around and snag some old dead wood too. Big branches that have been sitting for so long they’re down to dry heart wood. Stinks but burns good.
It’s snowing in DFW. Not bad, but pretty.
