We know a lot more on February 12 than on January 6.
First, it is clear that the assault on the Capitol has become the most damaging event of Donald Trump’s political career. Combined with forfeiting the Senate in the January run-off elections, the lethal storming of the federal legislature by Trump’s most unscrupulous and foolhardy supporters the next day has now overshadowed a surprisingly strong performance for then-President Trump and the GOP last fall, in a year where everything went wrong.

Now that they have agreed to call witnesses, anything could happen.
“We know a lot more on February 12 than on January 6.”
Yes we now know that The American Conservative is Romneyesque Never Trumper organization that is working hard to throw President Trump under the bus.
Yep, that was a stupid move. Keep allowing the Dem’s to move the goalposts and anything can happen.
I am sick of all these puffed up know nothing elitists. The election was stolen. Deal with it DC and all other Democrat/GOPee cesspools of diseased corruption.
Love how these Conservative pundiots never look into if the siege was staged by Antifa while Trump was speaking. Just repeat the echo chamber and then make excuses.
*sniff sniff*
Curt Mills smells like...Bill Kristol.
“First, it is clear that the assault on the Capitol has become the most damaging event of Donald Trump’s political career.”
Start the impeachment of TRAITOR Joek you Republicucks.
It’s possible that the Democrats have stepped in a pile of their own making. The longer the “trial” takes, the longer the delay in them voting to spend our (actually our great grandchildren’s) money.
Yep! Unfortunately every single republican there are snakes that CANNOT BE TRUSTED....ESPECIALLY Lindsey girl and his butt partner McConnell!
The democrats have already won by the simple fact the senate is trying the case without the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court presiding. I’m very certain that according to the Constitution, he and only he can preside over the trial. This is sets a very dangerous precedent when the democrats can put one of their flunkies in the judges seat.
The coward, Justice Roberts, should walk in to the proceedings and ask what they are doing.
It would be stunning.
But, the coward won’t do it.
Closing arguments at former President Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial were expected to get underway Saturday morning — but Day 5 started instead with House impeachment manager Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) asking to subpoena records and call a witness sparking fierce debate with Trump defense lawyer Michael van der Venn.
House impeachment managers now want to call Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler as a witness.

This is a show trial, worthy of Stalin.
The DemocRATs know that we know what is going on, and don’t care. They think their grip on power at this point is absolute and unbreakable.
First, they persecute Trump for daring to challenge their power.
Next, they go after his supporters. Anyone who doesn’t agree with an absolute totalitarian government is a target.
Once upon a time, I believed that massive incarcerations (and executions) for political purposes was impossible in America. But when Bill Clinton was elected, I realized that the American people can go down such a path just as easily as Russians, Chinese, Germans, Cubans, etc. Some of those millennials/SJWs are so full of hate that they would love to imprison (and worse) anyone they deem unhuman. And they have been working hard to dehumanize anyone who doesn’t engage in their toxic form of groupthink.
But the dems may have made a big miscalculation.
“Curt Mills smells like...Bill Kristol.”
Go to the article and look at his picture. He’s a kid.
However, I found it to be an interesting article that looks at a bigger picture than most.
He’s a Trump hater but keep reading. He points out some serious problems for democrats downstream.
“The democrats have already won by the simple fact the senate is trying the case without the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court presiding.”
Actually, you could call it a wash. The chief justice cannot preside because the trial was not determined until 5 days after the president left office.
The Constitution specifies only four points about the Senate impeachment trial of a president: (1) The Senate “shall have the sole power to try all impeachments”; (2) when sitting as a court of impeachment, senators “shall be on oath or affirmation”; (3) conviction of any accused officer requires “concurrence of two thirds of the members present”; and (4) when the president is the accused, “the Chief Justice shall preside.”
The president was not accused while he was president. So they are trying a citizen, not a sitting president. Roberts doesn’t play then.
