A tragic day in Texas. – Below is a photo of a 133-car pileup that took place just south of Downtown Fort Worth on I-35W this morning. At least 6 people were killed and dozens were injured, as the entire north Texas/Central Texas region was plagued by below-freezing temperatures and freezing drizzle that turned roads into skating rinks.
This is just heartbreaking. Pray for the families involved.
This also happened in Texas Wednesday:
From the story at the New York Post (because most Texas news outlets could not be bothered to report it):
A 12-year-old Texas boy who felt “sad and lonely” amid the coronavirus lockdown measures hanged himself, his father revealed in a report about the tragedy.
Hayden Hunstable, of Aledo, took his own life three days before his 13th birthday in April 2020 because he didn’t know how to deal with the isolation and depression when the emerging disease caused a nationwide shutdown, the UK’s Metro reported.
The boy’s 9-year-old sister, Kinlee, found him hanged in his bedroom, according to the outlet.
Hayden’s heartbroken dad, Brad, 42, spoke to Metro to help prevent future suicides among the nation’s youth.
“COVID killed my son. I think Hayden would still be alive today if COVID had never happened,” the father of three told the outlet. “I had no idea he was struggling or depressed — he was such a happy kid and loved his friends and family.”
[End]
Not to argue with the child’s father, but COVID did not kill Hayden. What led this boy to take his own life was the reactions by adults to COVID-19. This is the price of Anthony Fauci’s daily moving of the goalposts related to COVID-19 and of governors, Democrat and Republican alike, slavishly following the advice of Fauci and other “experts” who so gleefully exert their tyrannical control over the American people.
Hayden is just one of thousands of suicides that have taken place over the past 11 months that would not have occurred had it not been for the tyranny of these “experts” and the policymakers who have blindly followed them. Thousands more have needlessly died of drug overdoses during that same time. Additional thousands have died because they were prevented from receiving the health care they needed for other health issues.
This is the real cost of COVID-19, and the corrupt news media refuses to even report on it. Sadly, no one in the media will bother to ask Fauci if he believes his constantly-shifting pronouncements bear responsibility for Hayden’s death, or ask the same question of Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who has blindly followed the advice of Fauci and his own “experts” in Texas as a means of providing political cover for his stupid, economy and society-killing decisions.
Make no mistake here: COVID did not kill Hayden. Power-hungry adults who should know better did.
That is all.
Gotta wonder why local TxDot didn’t have the bridges and overpasses sanded down in preparation for this ice storm.
For those in DFW reading this, the pileup happened Wednesday, not this morning. Prayers for the families involved.
Even if they had, the rain would’ve washed it away. This was the kind of storm you do not “win” against, and thankfully we only really see them every 15-20 years.
Are you sure? It was big news yesterday which was Thursday.
:). Not all of us watch the news every day, and given the way the part of the article shown in the post reads-coupled with the date of the article, my first thought was “Fort Worth had another ice storm?”
“Gotta wonder why local TxDot didn’t have the bridges and overpasses sanded down in preparation for this ice storm.”
Probably because sand doesn’t work. Salt certainly works, but it is not politically correct. Sand makes it sound like you care, but roads stay frozen.
The accident was Thursday morning
My mistake. The article has a picture of a pileup with a caption underneath saying this also happened Wednesday- but it is referring to headlines further down.
COVID didn't kill your son. Government shutdowns and school lockdowns did.
I remember Atlanta getting hit with a big snow storm in the 80’s. I was on a business trip and watched the local news from my hotel room that morning. They were showing real time shots of a straight section of 75/85. A driver/vehicle would hit their brakes hard for apparently no reason (not by other cars, road straight) and then just spin off the road. Growing up and and having lived in snowland, I found this really funny. “What dummies...”.
Reports say this happened in express lanes that were privately managed, so it was not TXDOT.
Sand simply gets covered by freezing rain.
You need salt first, and when there is no more precipitation, sand works on frozen ice.
I have a 12 year old grandson and a 9 year old granddaughter, That story is so sad it mad me cry. Why can’t the experts see this in our children? I hate the teacher union, hate it. They are responsible for so much death and destruction in our children’s lives, damn them.
So is Cuomo - these Dems are killers.
Bumper cars. The highway sounds like a Boston brass band.
There has to be more to the story about the little Texas boy. I don’t know about the Aledo school district that the kid attends but I’m in Texas and our school district hasn’t been in lockdown. The band and track teams started practice way back in July then the school opened for the school year in late August/early September.
BINGO! Why can’t the PARENTS see this? There had to be signals!
Poor kid and so many like him.
