Poll: 64 Percent of Republican Voters Would Join Trump If He Started a New Party

In a blow to the establishment GOP, a new Hill-HarrisX poll shows an overwhelming percentage of Republican voters would join a new political party established by former President Donald Trump.

The survey asked how likely voters would be to join a Trump-led party.

64 percent of Republican voters said they would be likely to cross over, with half of those saying they would be “very likely” to join.

The survey also found that a surprising chunk of independent voters (28 percent) and Democrats (15 percent) said they would sign up for a third party formed by Trump.

...

Dritan Nesho, CEO and chief pollster at HarrisX, notes the latest poll shows “Trump remains a political force to be reckoned with.”

How much sway does he have?

“If Trump were to split from the GOP and create his own party, polling suggests he might well create the second largest political party in the country, knocking the GOP down to third place,” Nesho added.

A split like that would give them control of the White House and Congress for quite some time.

The dems already have that. There's no time like the present to reconstitute into something far more formidable than the weak and bleating GOP.

Until rigged elections are fixed it doesn’t matter.

Which implies that 36% would not, resulting in a split vote that hands future elections to the Democrats.

Well then, the GOP will have to try harder to earn those voters back.

How many patriotic, America-loving, true-Christian, JFK Democrats would join it?

Therein lies the most interesting question. Hopefully, we'll get to find out.

Trump can’t say he’s going to start a new party until after the impeachment fiasco because he knows most of the GOP turds would vote to convict him.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if shortly thereafter a group splits off of the Democrats.”

Trump’s party would be neither R nor D nor I. Patriots, basically. That could attract many disillusioned D’s, and they are legion.

It does not matter if 100% of repubs would follow him plus 75% of the dims.

People need to get it through their heads that nothing is as important as cleaning up the voting process.

Wake up...as it is today YOUR VOTE DOES NOT COUNT!!!

We need a new MAGA party with or without Trump. We need a new party for self preservation because the GOP is throwing us to the wolves.

We already have that. It's called, every time the RINOs get elected they roll over on their backs and pee on themselves in submission to the demoncraps.

Don't keep running at the football Charlie Brown.

Chris Cristy spent $175,000 of national governors monies an attack adds against Tom Tancredo in his run for governor of Colorado. This was quite divisive and has killed the conservative movement in Colorado and showed in the Polus gay mafia into power to take over Colorado. It is quite difficult to vote for the GOOP now as both parties are so corrupt and divisive.

“These new party articles are just a distraction. It’s what the media does. President Trump has already said he won’t conjure up a new party.”

George Washington (does anyone under 30 know who he was?) thought, in what became known as the Farewell Address in 1796, that ‘the spirit of party’ “serves always to distract the public councils and enfeeble the public administration. It agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one part against another, foments occasionally riot and insurrection.”

Throughout his political life, and until his death in 1799, George Washington was confident that the country could and should function without the existence of political parties.

I honestly think it is more. Trump fused populism and conservatism into a new voter block.

Yep, probably closer to 80%, especially once it is started and people can see it.

The Chamber Of Commerce and “big” business are going woke Democrat and the GOP is going broke. So the only donors left to support the GOP are farmers and small business owners. The GOP donor class is a fringe group maybe 10,000,000 tops. Tractor monkeys and Mom and Pop better pony up.

Jim Jordan and others would have a big decision to make. They cannot win their seats if a Trump endorsed Patriot Party is on the ballot. They either have to jump on board of face annihilation. It happened to the Progressive Conservative Party in Canada in 1993. They went from a majority government to only 2 seats, because the party abandoned their base and told them “you have nowhere to go”. Two regional break-off parties won most of the seats in Western Canada and the Province of Quebec, and split the votes in the rest of the provinces. McConnell, McCarthy, Cheney, Graham and others are just asking for a thumping.

I’ll put it another way: We’ll register to vote when there is a party that will fight. One that I can even run for office. One that won’t back down and cooperate with the communists like the GOP does. One that cares more about the country than themselves.
