In a blow to the establishment GOP, a new Hill-HarrisX poll shows an overwhelming percentage of Republican voters would join a new political party established by former President Donald Trump.
The survey asked how likely voters would be to join a Trump-led party.
64 percent of Republican voters said they would be likely to cross over, with half of those saying they would be “very likely” to join.
The survey also found that a surprising chunk of independent voters (28 percent) and Democrats (15 percent) said they would sign up for a third party formed by Trump.
...
Dritan Nesho, CEO and chief pollster at HarrisX, notes the latest poll shows “Trump remains a political force to be reckoned with.”
How much sway does he have?
“If Trump were to split from the GOP and create his own party, polling suggests he might well create the second largest political party in the country, knocking the GOP down to third place,” Nesho added.

I honestly think it is more. Trump fused populism and conservatism into a new voter block.
Where do I sign up.
82% of Trump’s voters would not cross the street
to urinate on a GOP politician on fire.
The GOP is far beyond contempt that KNOWINGLY deserves.
These new party articles are just a distraction. It's what the media does.
President Trump has already said he won't conjure up a new party.
I think that number is, er, conservative.
64% seems a little low.
The RINO wing of the GOP have already joined the left. In a 3-party political environment I have no doubt that they would continue to do so, or simply switch parties. The GOP is already dead, but I guess we’re going to have to prick the carcass with sticks a little while longer to make sure.
Only 64%? I would have expected that number to be higher. As it is, that’s great news...for the Democrats. A split like that would give them control of the White House and Congress for quite some time.
But what’s the alternative? Just more of the same?
I’m all in. Eff the feckless GOP, who laid down in front of the Obama agenda and now massive vote fraud like rose petals thrown at a wedding.
This is why they fear Trump!!!
He has tapped into the common man! They know he fights for the Country & them, and against the establishment that had to get rid of him!!!
It’s higher than that. No doubt. I’m sick of polls. The only poll that’s supposed to be of value is the one at the polls. And the dems have perfected their fraud machine to a fine art. In the future, they’ll throw conservatives bones but will never let go of their majority.
And the reason for this is an unaware, uneducated populace that’s more interested is saving a tree and studying 14th century French art in an indoctrination public school system than understanding history and economics.
The Republican party needs to be destroyed. If it takes a new party to do it, then so be it.
So a third part not only takes away from the GOP, it also weakens the Democratic Party. Additionally, it allows independent voters to live with themselves and actually join a party. A mass exodus from the GOP will render it dead. The trick to keeping a 3rd party of the people is to make sure the establishment types never have anything to do with the new party, especially hold office or any leadership position in the party. They need to be exiled from American politics forever.
WASHINGTON, D.C.—In an awesome display of action movie MAGA-greatness, Trump walked away from the exploding Republican Party like an absolute legend, without looking back or even flinching. Witnesses say they saw Trump power-walking in slow motion away from the massive explosion as smoldering wreckage and shrieking Republicans rained down around him.
“I’ve never seen anything so beautiful,” said Steve Bannon and Nancy Pelosi in unison.
Trump supporters and Democrats collectively cheered while the steely-eyed Trump strutted confidently without any indication that he cared about the scorching inferno behind him as it laid waste to all the “losers and second-rate cowards” caught up in the blast. Mitch McConnell tried his best to escape, but he was too slow due to being a turtle. The force of the blast tipped him over on his back and he lay there with his arms flailing helplessly.
Authorities arrived on the scene to try to extinguish the flames but Trump stayed their hands. “No,” he said, slowly removing his glasses and finally turning around to gaze upon the torched ruins of the Republican Party. “No... let it burn.”
After several years of the Nancy, Chucky and Joe show emceed by feckless Republican enablers the number may just be a few points higher.
Or so I'm thinking
You have to bulldoze a slum before you can build a new structure. Destroy the GOP. They don’t even pretend to be on our side now.
Maybe. But the other thought on that is: If the Republicans have a split-off party, I wouldn’t be surprised if shortly thereafter a group splits off of the Democrats. Right now especially, the Democrat establishment has a deathgrip on that party, stifling other voices. So, if the Republicans split, it’s an opportunity to split still have a chance...
Where do I sign?
I will happily join it. Not that I wouldn’t ever again vote for a GOP candidate, but that candidate would have a major selling job to do to earn my vote.
Which implies that 36% would not, resulting in a split vote that hands future elections to the Democrats.
