I would not wanted to be a tank crew man

Nor the grunt assigned to clean out the mess

I’ve read WWII accounts

That and ball turret cleanup

Whew

You remember the First World War?
Many millions killed in trenches by artillery & machine guns.

That's what tank warfare was intended to change.

Kind of depends on the tank and the tank crew, doesn’t it?

My Uncle was in Elvis’ tank crew in Germany. Said he got a lot of Elvis’ leftovers and hand-me-downs

The movie “Fury” was as accurate as they could make it, consulting as many surviving WWII tankers as they could find. My first duty station was in a HQ unit at Patton’s beloved 2nd Armored Division which performed miracles under his leadership. 1984 saw the refinement of the M1 Abrams and the debut of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle. Thank you President Reagan, it was an honor to be with you winning the Cold War.
