My husband and I are recently retired and looking to relocate to the southeastern area of Tennessee, somewhere near the vicinity of Delano. If anyone would share tips, i.e. locale, realtor options, I would be grateful.

I grew up on a dirt road ‘bout a mile from a community of 250 people, all kin by blood or marriage. The only way in, ‘less you trek over the mountain is a bridge across the river and then there’s the railroad tracks. A one-time date drove 30+ miles to take me to a high school dance another 20+ miles in a different direction. He had a wrestling match the next a.m. Taking me home, the train was stopped for close to an hour. I offered to wait by myself, but he was a gentleman and saw me home safely. Though, he never asked me out again.
UT has the dumbest BOR across the board.

Also his sometimes fishing partner "Bama Beach Bum," seem to catch a lot of {Speckle & Rainbow} trout when fishing streams and such.
Brant is one of those guy's that just look's at the water, and the fish jump out of the water, into his hands.
I like the {Bama} Beach Bum, he's just like me, can go fishing for 365 day's, and by golly, he'll catch fish on at least 15 of those day's, catch at least one or more fish. LOL. I SUCK AT FISHING.
Been all over Tellico...I used to have a string of Plott Hounds and we bear and hog hunted Tellico quite a bit...

The Vols have/had “top” players? Recently? That program is a dumpster fire. Their about to pay Kevin Steele a ton of money for a couple of weeks of non-work.
We vacationed in Gaitlinburg about 8-10 years ago..were pulled in by the great online ‘brochures’..and while there were nearby areas that we thought were quite pretty, we were astounded at how “touristy” it and (gasp) Pigeon Forge were. (Holy. Mother. Of. God!! What the...?)
Definitely not ‘us’..but we did stay in a nice cabin overlooking the Smokies that was far enough outside of ‘town’ to be decent..

Gatlinburg is sometimes referred to as Daytona Beach in the mountains...
That is to bad.
If you want the Smokies experience stay in Townsend.
Gatlinburg is good for a late night frolic.
Pigeon Forge is for kids.
