Can you think of a less desirable, more dangerous job than to try to confiscate or steal an American citizen’s property - especially, for Heaven’s sake- his firearm ? Not many people are going to take jobs like that, they’d be safer testing the front bumper impact strength of Mack trucks at 50mph.

"Gaze into the Warrant of The Confiscator."

Gaze

See, this is what I hate about Hoft at Gateway Pundit. His article lead me to believe new action was coming on gun bans.... but it is the old Statement of Position that was on Joe Dementia’s website during the campaign.

I think it’s pretty much down to Manchin, and Biden just paid off his daughter with the EpiPen executive order.

No one in the State of Washington has filed a lawsuit regarding taxes on firearms and ammunition.

Some group needs to do that.

What’s True

More hunting licenses, tags, permits, and stamps were sold in the U.S. in 2018 (about 37 million) than the number of total members in the world’s 10 largest armies (about 25 million).

The problem with non compliance is, once you start to do it in one area, it becomes easier to do it in others.

True. There are also a lot of old farts like me with little to nothing holding them in this world.

“Semaj, is that you?”

No, but one of many of my illegitimate offspring I’ve sired across the country. I’m so proud of him, a chip off the ol’ block.

You are correct. The NRA and/or other second amendment supporting organizations need to quit treating things state by state. There is either a second amendment that protects all, or it protects none. There should not be different laws and rules on weapons in Wyoming and California.

13 pages of federal forms that must be filled out perfectly. Not that our glorious ATF and FBI would make sure everyone made a mistake on the form leading to federal charges....

“I don’t know a single person who bought any firearms from the federal government.”

I bought an M1 carbine from the Civilian Marksmanship Program back in the day. (Pity about that mix-up during the 6 times I have moved since then. You know what they say: “3 moves is as bad as a fire.”)

Go to gun pages.
Lot’s of people saying “well this isn’t a ban! ALL YOU BLACK RIFLE GUYS ARE DESTROYING OUR RIGHTS!”

There are shooters, tactical guys, and hunters. While many are in two or more groups, many are not. All will sell the other groups out.

Right now the weakest segment is the tactical guys.

From a conversation with a few lawyer friends about gun control.

The three are tactical, shooting, and hunters. Will go in reverse order.

Hunters: Hunting is quickly becoming a high cost sport. Big game hunts for things like elk start at $3k, and even a whitetail like I shot a few years ago will run you $5K. Problem is access. Landowership is increasingly going to large corporations or very wealthy individuals, and they have no reason to allow the public to access the land. Even in public lands there is pressure to end public hunting by the same. This makes hunters ironically the most secure group. People as diverse as Mark Zuckerberg hunt, and want to keep doing so. While that means the average person will soon not be able to afford access, it does mean they will be hunting going on.

Shooters: Lots of overlap with hunters (similar weapons, similar skills, etc), and viewed as low risk. So a bench rest guy is not viewed as a threat. However they are fewer in number as many die off, and the barriers to entry are very high. Money, access, and getting accepted into a shooting group. But they are often upper middle class voters who live in suburbs and have some political pull.

Then we get to the Tactical group. The biggest problem with tactical is optics. So a guy with an AR, knee pads, vests, and running around simulating combat is not going to play well with suburban women. While hunters and shooters can say their hobby is “non threatening”, tactical people are practicing skills that are based on combat. They also are typically younger with less money, and often do not hunt or target shoot. So the optics are worse, they scare the Karens, and the skills and equipment is more related to combat than peaceful purposes.

Which ends up putting the hunters and shooters on the defensive over a sport they have little interest in. So the other two groups are very tempted to feed the tactical group to the libs in order to survive.

It’s the old adage, they came for the X group and I didn’t
object. They did this a number of times. I reacted the
same way. Finally the came for me, and I had no allies.

Solidarity is the key. From the get go, everyone object.

Interesting points you have made and much of it makes complete sense when put that way.
I know that I cringe when I see silly obese guys with body armor and goggles at RKBA/2A events.
