Lauren Boebert Moves to Block Biden E.O. on Paris Treaty by Demanding Senate Confirmation

Looks like some of the new faces on Capitol Hill are wasting no time in getting their feet wet with how the whole process of legislative work is done and they are already making a splash. The newly elected representative from Colorado’s third district, Lauren Boebert, is already making some waves and getting underneath the skin of the lefties who by and large think Joe Biden is super smart and wise.

I have a feeling this is going to be a ton of fun to watch.

As we all know, one of the very first things that Scranton Joe Biden was told to sign on the dotted line with a BIG X next to it on Day One was to reenter the Paris “accord.” What that monstrosity actually is in layman’s terms in the United States Consitution would be called a treaty. This is why Donald Trump had the U.S removed from its clutches, being as the Senate never voted on it. You would think that someone like Joe Biden who took up space in the upper chamber would know the rules on how this works and not reenter an agreement without the Senate’s approval.

Maybe he just simply forgot.

From The Blaze

In one of Biden’s first actions in office, he rejoined the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. Boebert’s bill would prevent the United States from spending any money on the Paris Agreement until the treaty is ratified by the Senate.

“Joe Biden took an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution. If he wants to keep it, he must transmit the job-killing Paris Agreement to the U.S. Senate for ratification,” Boebert said in a statement. “Unilaterally entering the Paris Agreement was wrong in 2016 and it’s wrong now. Responsible energy production supports more than 230,000 Colorado jobs. The Paris Agreement puts these jobs at risk and will increase energy costs.”

Imagine that — a freshman Congress person actually wanting the Senate to do its job instead of Joe just signing a piece of paper that commits this country to a treaty without ratification in the chamber given that responsibility. I know that when Obama committed the U.S. to this patchwork monstrosity in 2016, he thought calling it an Accord was a real crafty way to get around the Senate. Being Barrack only had a cup of coffee in that institution before he decided to run for President and crush Hillary Clinton’s dreams (the first time), maybe he didn’t know the rules. Yet Joe was there for 40+ years and he sure knows how the place is run even though he usually forgets where he was 25 minutes ago.

The really nifty thing here is that Rep. Boebert and her fellow freshman ladies of the GOP are not going to wait around to find out where the coffee machines are in the Capitol and are hitting the ground running which is a great sign. Also that it is a newly elected westerner that did this is a good kick in the rear to the leadership of the House GOP that they have been sitting docile on way too many things. With this new group of elected folks roaming the hallowed halls, Liz Cheney should pay attention and learn a thing or two.

Hopefully, other elected officials will join this cause and it will be taken to the Supreme Court where it would take a miracle for John Roberts to come up with some goofball explanation to excuse away this Executive Branch overreach.

The Paris agreement was just a good ole money grab for other countries to hoist on the American People’s credit card and Donald Trump did the right thing in 2017 to cut up that card. Luckily we have people like Rep. Boebert who are willing to fight to keep us out of that China-inspired mess and are willing to fight to do so.

She’s great!

I agree, it should be all of them. Maybe now that they’ve got a few new leaders, they’ll wake up.

Nobody in either house of Congress will pay any attention to her initiative.

It will never receive a vote in any committee, much less on the floor of the House or Senate.

I hope they are smart enough to set up the Senate for a total melt-down.

I say let them go for the impeachment vote in the Senate. And pray for a tie vote in the Senate.

Then have one of the new Senators stand up to a tie-breaking vote in the Senate and OBJECT to Harris’ vote as VP and President of the Senate due to the DNC certifying Harris as a Natural Born (US) Citizen when Senate Resolution 511 from April 30, 2008 states:

Whereas John Sidney McCain, III, was born to American citizens on an American military base in the Panama Canal Zone in 1936:

Now, therefore, be it Resolved, That John Sidney McCain, III, is a “natural born Citizen” under Article II, Section 1, of the Constitution of the United States.

Harris cannot meet the same essential requirement of American citizen parents. Certifying her as an act of the Electoral College was UNLAWFUL. Her acts as Senate President are unlawful.

Had to drive through Rifle last week. I stopped and had lunch at the Shooters Grill, bought a t-shirt for my wife, got a pick with Lauren’s mom. Anything to show support. They really appreciate it. Apparently they get a lot of nasty and threatening phone calls and such.

The definition of the term “natural born citizen” was debated during the 2008 elections, since Senator McCain was born in the Panama Canal Zone and not in the United States. The term “natural born” has long been thought to mean born within the borders of United States. But McCain’s father was a Naval officer serving in the Canal Zone when he was born. Since the Canal Zone was a US territory at the time, it was widely accepted that John McCain was a natural born US citizen. As all children born to American citizens abroad are entitled to American citizenship at birth, the wider question of whether a child born to American citizens while traveling or living abroad can be considered a natural born citizen remains an open question.

Most of the Republicans voted for this setup in the first place, when Obama was president. It allowed Obama to negotiate the deal he wanted and implement it without the 2/3 vote required for a treaty. This allowed the Republicans to then campaign against it as if they had been against it.

They did this for the TPP and Iran too, as I recall.

Short answer is yes, children born overseas of US citizen parents are considered natural born citizens. see US Family Law

Yeah, introducing a bill in the House will go nowhere, and have no impact. To me, we need to do what the the left has been doing for years- file lawsuits and get judges to issue injunctions.

Her Gab page is pretty funny — and smart. The fence around the White House is to “keep Biden from wandering off”.

Yes its never been confirmed. And the UN just came out and said it was unnecessary for the US to join since we hardly pollute.
