Earlier this month, a pro-Trump mob unlawfully breached the United States Capitol, hoping to “stop the steal” by interfering with the Electoral College vote count. In a positive deviation from the norm, Americans are coming together to denounce political violence, calling for the swift arrests of the perpetrators. What’s troubling, however, is law enforcement’s use of the same invasive technologies that, just a few months ago, caused a wave of backlash and prompted big tech to terminate government contracts. While Americans rally around this national manhunt, they should keep a watchful eye on their Fourth Amendment rights.
Sure, the rioters assaulted police officers in the name of a president who championed “law and order,” — their hypocrisy is astounding. But greater dangers lie ahead if we all follow suit and pursue accountability with an “ends justifies the means” mindset.

Facial recognition tech got legitimized a long time ago. All the opposition is just old men yelling at clouds.
The commies don’t mind using this tech against us.
They just don’t want it used against them.
Facial recognition tech, as well as voice recognition, is here and here to stay. It’s just a part of the massive surveillance that includes cell phones and other digital surveillance.
What goes directly against the grain of this facial recognition is the wearing of covid masks. If one wears a mask and a cap with the visor lowered so overhead cams cannot get a good look at the eyes, I just cannot see how facial recognition would be effective.
One bank we do business at requires customers to remove their mask as they enter the building, then put it back on once at the teller.
Adapt quickly. Hoodies, dark glasses and covid masks are gonna be the new uniform for conservatives.
They identified people way too quickly and moved for nationwide mass arrests after DC.
Going barefaced in the future is like trying to hijack an airliner with boxcutters. Next time be smarter.
Full tinted face shields might help. (Works for pantyfa apparently) Or a balaclava. NOT baclava. You KNOW the facial recog folks were working OT after the capital invasion by ‘terrorists’ with arms. You know, arms attached at their shoulders with hands on the ends.
Smearing pastry on my face won’t work?
Both the first and second sentences are incorrect. It wasn’t only a a “pro-Trump mob” and Americans are not coming together to denounce political violence. Only conservative political violence is being denounced.
Every part of this first sentence is nothing more than re-chewed mainstream crap.
That’s a fact. They banned its use during the BLM riots in many areas.. including the whole of California if I recall.
Am I still trusting the plan?
The stupid Guy Falls mask used by leftist work really well.
Nope. But the K-9s will pay attention to you.
It’s not about facial recognition, it’s about imbeciles that posted their actions, location and time on social media and then wonder why the FBI could track them down.
Throw on a black hoody...my wife hates it. LOL

Burkas work
But face recognition doesn’t stop there it looks at your eyes it looks at your ears it might even look at your neck! There’s a whole lot involved with that software. There’s gotta be a YouTube on it
Dress for anonymity. A WuFlu mask and sunglasses go a long way. Baggy clothing, awkward shoes, and a floppy hat, and you should be good for now. Soon though, the computer recognition will be too good to hide from.
“Person of Interest” debuted ten years ago.
It’s been legitimatized since at least then.
