I’m seeing nothing that resembles a civil war. Remember, conservatives play nice and lose so who is fighting?
Like most people you skip over the secession of many states. This could be peaceful or not. Don’t jump right into war.
We’ve been infiltrated from without and corrupted from within. Short of the Second Coming or aliens landing, I don’t see how secession or CW II gets bumped down the list.
There are fewer moderates every day.

The bigger danger is there will not be a civil war and we go like sheep to the slaughter.
As long as we are the fattest, most comfortable and passively entertained people ever, human nature and recorded history seem to indicate we are pretty far away from civil upheaval. We did things the romans couldn’t even imagine with our superior bread and circuses, like actually making the poorest the most likely to be obese.
I suspect we are going to be amazed at what will be politically tolerated as long as people are fat and entertained as it happens.

It has nothing really to do with radicals.
In a situation like this, radicals are just the uncontrollable leading edge of where large masses of people are going. Consider them as just so many John Browns, or Gavrilo Princips - or, rather, that rogue band of Serbian military intelligence officers that recruited him. They will do what they will do, without reference to the opinions of the mass, and they cannot be reined in.
The social situation is what will bring war. There are irreconcilable interests here, and a long history of mutual hatred, people to people. The only way to defuse this is, well, there is no realistic way to do it. The elite side of this social war will have to deny their own nature, to stop spewing acid and poison on the masses. They can’t.

You should probably catch up on your history and I would also suggest that you read the Declaration of Independence and keep in mind, the Founding Fathers of this nation would have been shooting by now.

While there are few moderates left in politics, people outside Washington and outside politics aren't as polarized as the politically-obsessed might think they are. Democrats hope what's happening now will drive the undecideds into their camp, but they'll go too far and there will be a reaction.
