It was a set-up. It was a scheme to create a way for McConnell and Pelosi to rid the DC swamp of its worst enemy- Donald Trump. They wanted things back the way they were when the swamp creatures were in charge of everything.
Those riots always bugged me. Something wasn't right. The fences were breached a full 20 minutes before Trump finished speaking. The press still fails to report that Trump asked for a "peaceful" protest.
But there's more. A lot more.

Of that there is zero doubt.
On January 11 it was reported that the head of the Capitol police, was rebuffed in his effort to get reinforcements to protect the Capitol

Sund’s remarks were in contrast with those from officials in other branches of government, who said after Trump’s supporters stormed into the Capitol building last Wednesday that they could have provided more people to secure it – but no one from the Capitol Police asked.
Sund told the newspaper in an interview he had asked House and Senate security officials for permission to request that the National Guard be placed on standby in case he needed quick backup but his request was turned down.

On January 12 the Washington Post reported that the FBI knew in advance of the threat of violence

"The question I have is what did Nancy Pelosi, what did Mitch McConnell know about these threats beforehand?" he asked. "If they didn't know, it's an intelligence failure of the police. The Rally To Nowhere was THE single stupidest political move in American political history.

I don’t think so. It’s a remarkable parallel.
That would have been my thought. Heck, it’s one reason I didn’t go. It looked to incendiary. Now if not the sharpest knife in the drawer me can figure that out, certainly the President or one of his advisers would have. But laying it entirely on congress to eliminate Trump is foolish.

That would require leadership and I don’t think either of them has an ounce of that. They both just react to events as those events occur.
I think the more simple explanation is that Republicans don’t “riot.” I’ve been aware of rallies on the Mall since I was in high school in the early 70’s. Of all of the Conservative/Republican ones, has there ever been trouble. My God, even the kid did not respond to the Indians drumming in his face.
So, why would they think Jan 6 would be different?
They could save a lot of time and money on overtime: It’s just those squeaky clean republicans!

Not only that, he has his buddies in talk radio that...could have said something? They didn't think anything would happen?
The Republicans’ fatal flaw is they assume that the Dems will play by the rules..........................
