The forecast for this week was for activity to return to M7.0 range in the West Pacific (between our sets of deep earthquakes).
The expected M7.0 range increase has now taken place directly in the middle of the warned region, where the plate boundaries converge at the Indonesia / Philippines border.

Dutch says he does not predict earthquakes. He only does forecasts.

Yes, we felt it. It lasted for about 30 seconds. Even my dogs knew it. Water and electricity are all ok, but it was an agonizing 30 seconds. I thought it would never stop shaking. đ

30 seconds is a long time
Yes it is. About 18 months ago, we had a 7.9, and it lasted about 45 seconds. That was even worse, and it damaged a condominium building so bad, they had to condemn the entire structure. So far, I havenât heard any damage reports. There were numerous after shocks, in that previous quake. We were on the 3rd floor of Guisano Mall in in Bajada when that aftershock struck. We had no where to go, but the whole gigantic building was swaying. It was a helpless feeling, knowing we couldnât do anything, but hope it would stop. đ
