The DC Swamp Police State Grows With Addition of 200 NYPD Officers
DB Daily Update ^ | David Blackmon

No fewer than 11 New York Police Department officers were injured during violent riots staged by BLM/Antifa domestic terrorists in New York City last night.

From a story at DailyWire:

On Monday night, eleven police officers were injured, including one officer who was hit in the head by a glass bottle, as the NYPD and members of a Black Liberation March commemorating Martin Luther King Day clashed near New York City’s City hall.

“Police told protesters to disperse and violence broke out as officers began arresting demonstrators. A total of 28 people were arrested late Monday,” NBC New York reported, citing police sources. The marchers started from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and moved toward City Hall.

ABC 7 reported that police arrested 28 people, most of whom were “charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and blocking the roadway.”

[End]

When taken in the context of a dramatically rising incidence of violent crime in the city in the wake of the decision by the communist Democrats who run it to defund the NYPD to the tune of $150 million, one might think that an already overwhelmed department would need to have all available hands to deal with the potential for more riot violence tonight and in the coming days.

But no, you would be wrong. It turns out that Mayor Bill de Blasio apparently believes he has all sorts of resources to spare, given this report by the New York Post:

NYPD arrives in Washington, DC, to help with Inauguration Day security Dozens of NYPD officers were dispatched to Washington, DC, to help provide security for the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden following the deadly siege at the US Capitol.

A video posted to Twitter shows five buses of NYPD cops in DC on Monday.

“This morning, 200 of your officers begin their journey down to the U.S. Capitol, to represent the NYPD and assist with security for Wednesday’s Presidential Inauguration,” the police department tweeted.

[End]

That’s right: It turns out that the addition of 26,000 National Guard personnel to the forces of the DC Metro police, the FBI, the Capitol Police and all the myriad other local law enforcement agencies and bureaus and on and on and on just aren’t enough to protect the installation of an illegitimate sock puppet into the presidency tomorrow at noon: DC Mayor Muriel Bowser says she needs to borrow 3,000 more LEOs from other police departments around the country.

This is absolutely disgraceful, a clear effort to threaten and intimidate the half of Americans who do not believe this was a fair and legitimate election from doing or saying anything to oppose it. The DC Swamp knows its Big Lie has failed, and so the brutish bullying must go on.

That is all.

How absurd is this?

The National Guard is allegedly on the National Mall asking US citizens walking there for ID.

We have the FBI asking National Guard soldiers about their political leanings, social media activity, and other absurd questions.

Do we still have a constitution?

They defend what they control. They attack what they do not control.

FBI - defended

Police - not defended

Aren't those officers needed back home?

NYPD Arrests 28 Protesters at MLK Day Demonstration

At least 28 people were arrested as groups of protesters gathered in New York City to march on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Hundreds of protesters in different groups throughout the city began rallying as early as noon on Monday as a part of a Black Liberation March to commemorate the life and legacy of the Civil Rights leader. The groups calling for racial and social justice peacefully marched from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn to City Hall where they were met with a large group of NYPD officers.

The rally came to an end just as many Black Lives Matter protests ended last year. Police told protesters to disperse and violence broke out as officers began arresting demonstrators. A total of 28 people were arrested late Monday, police said.

Eleven officers were injured, according to the NYPD, but none in serious condition. One uniformed captain was hit in the head with a glass bottle. It's unclear how many protesters were injured.

See 5

Our republic is an interesting animal when it comes to “control” from a central authority. Elected Sheriff’s and District Attorney’s are the highest law enforcement within counties so when you break it down to the “smallest level” or “tip of the spear” for law enforcement there is minimal control from our capital.

County judges or district court judges are elected at the local level. Same thing for the courts.

This was by design on the part of our founders who abhorred centralized control at any level of government. Checks and balances exist throughout our constitutional republic.

The DC hysteria has a limited influence outside the capital (and on the screens and pages of big media). We still have a constitution and we still have courts and local governance. The left is going to exert a lot of power in the next two years, but they will overplay their hand. They always do.

No they are not defunding the police, they will federalize them. We are in the beginning of the process and the Capitol protest was the kick off. The NG will be Biden’s interim police force to keep us scared and in line until the transformation.

A Praetorian Guard.

The Praetorian Guard didn’t work well for many emperors:

The Praetorian Guard began life as Augustus’s bodyguard but evolved into a power-hungry monster responsible for the rise and bloody fall of numerous emperors!

Didn’t President Xi offer some People’s Liberation Army units and some tanks for crowd control like Tiamen Square?
