Is Impeaching a President During a War Treason?

We are in a war in which our Iranian enemy has pleaded with unspecified individuals or groups for help removing President Donald Trump from office. There have even been unofficial reward offers, such as a multi-million dollar bounty , for killing President Trump.

The Democrats' threat to use impeachment to remove President Trump from office would give our Iranian enemy's leaders what they say they want. Wouldn't that mean the Democrats would be giving aid and comfort to our Iranian enemy? Isn't giving aid and comfort to our enemies what the Constitution calls "treason"?

I think we have been in a State of War on and off (?), for decades.

We are not in a declared war and there is no chance that Congress would pass such a declaration.
I don’t think we even have whatever we use to justify warfare in the ME (”authorization to use force?”) against Iran.

The war from within will do to this country what iran and china could only hope of doing. Oh wait, isn’t that the driving power behind the submissive left? Same terrorists just using the front door now that comey and company told the enemy where to find the key.

Well, my perspective is that Treason is not treason in a country as devolved as US. It is complete delusion that the institutions residing in DC are USA government. USA has no lawful and therefore no government anymore.

The answer is no, there are no limits constitutionally on when the house can issue articles of impeachment. Morally and judgementally, yes. But not legally. Nor should it be. It should just not be abused as it is being done now.

The media and the democrats, and, of course, I repeat myself, really think they have some momentum going that they can stampede Congress with impeachment the way they stampeded Congress over the electoral vote count. It remains to be seen if the Republicans can look down deep and discover a spine, or guts. Not hopeful at all with finding balls.

I read a headline about calling for Cruz to resign, etc.Cruz should give them two fingers, not just one. These people are operating on the concept that if you have a good horse, then ride it.

It would only be treason if we had a justice department and Supreme Court!

Stupid and petty? Yes. Treason? No. Congress has not declared war on any foreign country since WWII. Constitutionally dubious “police actions” do not count as war.

The Dems are accomplishing nothing except making themselves look like idiots with TDS.

Idiotic.

We aren’t in a declared war.

Some people need to take a basic civics class.

Think a little deeper... consider this hypothetical... a president, during a declared war, passed top secret information about an impending invasion of the enemy’s country to the enemy’s ambassador. Would that be an impeachable offense? Of course it would. Would it be treason for the House to impeach him? Of course not.

So that’s not the right question. The question is... would impeaching Donald Trump at this point in history give aid and comfort to the enemy? Of course it would. But I think you’d have to prove their intent was to give aid and comfort to the enemy, and that it was not a mere byproduct of their actions.

Just trying to be objective here, because establishing precedents like this has a nasty way of coming back to bite you.

Depends on if high crimes or a misdemeanor occured. In Trumps case, he is at war with the rats in government and has his oath to defend him!

“It depends”

First, if the process is followed, it is entirely possible that a wartime presidnet be contrary to the nation’s interests, and it be in the nation’s interest to remove him.

But there is also the possibility that a majority of Congress is selling out the country.

impeachment is not always treason during wartime... say a president is siding with the naziis... and directed tax dollars to help their war cause, then why couldn’t he be impeached?
