US Attorney and legal scholar Alan Dershowitz joined Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures this morning to discuss Nancy Pelosi and the Democrat Party’s latest plans to impeach President Trump before the inauguration ceremonies next week.
According to Alan Dershowitz Democrats have zero chance of impeaching President Trump this week or after he leaves office.
Alan Dershowitz: “The case cannot come to trial in the Senate. Because the Senate has rules and the rules would not allow the case to come to trial until, according to the majority leader, until 1 PM on January 20th an hour after President Trump leaves office. And the Constitution specifically says, “The President shall be removed from office upon impeachment.” It doesn’t say the former president. Congress has no power to impeach or try a private citizen, whether it be a private citizen named Donald Trump or named Barack Obama or anyone else.”

Democrats have never cared about the law, and they still don’t.
These Rats and RINOs have no idea what they are doing. And that is the only thing consistent about them. Bring impeachment on. Trump will be the first President ever to be impeached twice and not removed from office. Trump will become more powerful and his followers, all 75+ million, will stand firmly at his side. This nation will be divided, as it should be. No compromise with the enemy. Either they submit to our will and the US Constitution or they go down.

Obviously laws and rules mean nothing to Pelosi, Schumer, and Biden. They’ll just pass a law stating that Trump should be jailed, and send him there. It could be months before the Supreme Court would rule that law to be unconstitutional. Who knows if five of them would have the integrity to do that. By then, the court may have 25 Justices, anyway.
So a client’s lawyer says “you can’t do that to my client”! Go figure.
Schumer can and will attempt impeachment if the House votes and forwards articles of impeachment. They cannot remove him if he is no longer president, but they can convict and bar him from holding office in the future. Trump will never be elected President again anyway, so impeachment would mostly be spiteful and vindictive.
I expect SDNY will push felony convictions for his entire family to ensure none of them can ever hold office either.

You are correct, of course. A lot of people have not come to grips with this.
The impeachment is an over reaction. They don’t need it to accomplish what they want to do. Trump’s approval increased after the 6th. It is either an emotional rage, or they are scared Trump can still do something.
I think it is the former, and I hope Trump realizes how over the top these people are reacting.
Wrong. The Constitution used the term PRESIDENT. If the person IS NOT THE PRESIDENT, THE LAW DOES NOT apply to the person.

Conviction in criminal court requires beyond-a-reasonable-doubt proof. It’s a difficult standard to meet.
They will not stop with jailing him, his family and children and anyone close to him. Read the Rules for Radicals and Bolshevik history .... you don’t defeat your enemy, you destroy them and their family and friends. Look at the cretin Soros, who laughs about his work with the Nazis in Hungary ... they were robbed and killed and he said it one of the happiest times of his life.
Wrong! They can only convict THE PRESIDENT, according to the plain, black letter text of the Constitution.. Not Joe the barber, Harry the mailman, or the former President.
The House is currently on break until the 18th. They really need a break, they actually worked four days last week. Nan could, of course, call them back, but that would take some time. Then they would have to make new rules to break current rules about such minor impediments such as required committee meetings and votes. There are enough Republicans there with spines, Nunes and Jordan, for instance, to throw a few chains into Nan's well greased gears to slow down things a bit. Then it would have to go to the Senate, where even more delays can occur. They're crazy to think their yelling about impeachment could really happen. Of course, they're only this for media attention, anyway.

They can obviously do anything they want as the Repukelicans cower in the corner.
