Schumer can and will attempt impeachment if the House votes and forwards articles of impeachment. They cannot remove him if he is no longer president, but they can convict and bar him from holding office in the future. Trump will never be elected President again anyway, so impeachment would mostly be spiteful and vindictive.
I expect SDNY will push felony convictions for his entire family to ensure none of them can ever hold office either.
