I've been watching some Netflix Original movies over the Christmas break, and I see a new disturbing trend creeping into their movies.
I know it's been the mission of Netflix to break down taboos in order to make Americans feel uncomfortable, and therefore more compliant, to the Left who keep pushing more and more boorish behavior into the public square.
The latest taboo barrier to desensitize seems to be repeated use of the female "c word" in their movies. It's becoming the new "f word" to express frustration, exasperation, or just plain contempt, in their plot lines. This used to be off-limits in the movies.
Is there no societal shame anymore? Is this how we want the next generation to speak to each other? Is this the kind of self-esteem we want the next generation to feel about themselves, and therefore, about others?

Does that mean we’re going to get peace without honor? It’s just a word, don’t like it pay attention to the ratings, they exist to help you avoid things.

Don’t watch The Boyz. ;)
In Chicago, it rhymes with Paulina, Melvina and Lunt.
LOL
There it is.
;D
And don’t watch this....
Glen and Gary and Glenn and Ross

“Is there no societal shame anymore?”
I’m on board with you. We quit watching Bridgerton after the 1st episode because of its indecency. Also Yellowstone.
Actually, my revulsion to the indecency is because children are able to watch it.
Netflix, then Gayflix, rapidly converging on just plain Pornflix. When you’re out of original and creative ideas, this is what is left.
I’m far from a prude, and do not really care how one gets their sex jollies, but when the whole story is devoted to the problems of a very small percentage of the population, time to jump off the service.
Which I did.
I agree. The C word should only be used when referring to it’s true definitions like Hillary Clinton or Nancy Pelosi.
“Good as I would like to toss it around more often as it does send a message....”
I don’t understand that post. I’m not criticizing. I just don’t understand it.
I suppose I can go live in a cave somewhere, but I don't want to.
I'm not looking for a snowflake safe space either. I'm just saying that this is popping up more frequently now, like it's becoming a badge of honor to say it when it didn't used to be that way.
Just like how statue-toppling started out as protests against Confederate monuments but spread to random desecration as "yutes" tried to one-up each other, I suspect the breaking down of norms is following the same pattern. People are racing to see who can out-shock the last person.
You can't turn that off. You either have to stop it or accept it.

You are looking at why I steer clear of Netflix.
“I agree. The C word should only be used when referring to it’s true definitions like Hillary Clinton or Nancy Pelosi.”
Now, that’s not only funny, but sadly, the truth.
Although come to think of it, ignorant s***a is a close competitor.
> Just curious also, is there ANY word that cannot be used against a male? Particularly a white male?
> I am not aware of a single one.
cracker seems to me at least to be used more often as an attempted insult. in actuality, the term is thought by some to come from the noise a cracking whip makes when used by florida cowboys in the early 19th century. since it is considered to be derogatory by the person using the term, then in theory imho it should be usable for guilt shaming the person, although i have never observed that to happen yet... on the pretense of a person acting on their (non-white) color privilege...
Cud.
The word that makes the Mike Hunt jokes work.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
i want to watch a netflix tv show. is there some way to do it besides subscibing to netflix?
