Senate Majority Leader Mitch Mcconnell now finds himself in the hot seat as Democrats begin rallying behind President Donald Trump's efforts to more than double the direct payment checks Congress secured in the just-passed coronavirus relief bill, leaving the fate of the aid package in limbo.

During remarks Tuesday night, Trump signaled he would not sign the bill, which was passed with overwhelming support late Monday, unless Congress included $2,000 direct checks to Americans, a proposal that flies in the face of the demands made by many Senate Republicans, some of whom had a tough time swallowing the $600 checks currently in the bill.

The aid package is tied to a large government funding bill that must be passed by Monday night. Yet as Congress stares down a looming government shutdown if Trump does not sign the bill, McConnell has so far been silent.

“ And it sure as Hell won’t be going to a bunch of foreigners and Broadway musicals”

It also won’t be kicking back in large sums to the Republican Senators, and that’s all they care about.

Both parties need to die, ans I’m more than happy to see the Republican Party dead first.

He does realize he’s counting on Trump to win him those senate seats a week later? Then again Mitch isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed

“That’ll stimulate something. And it sure as Hell won’t be going to a bunch of foreigners and Broadway musicals.”

There was a time when tax refunds, credits or other stimulus money put into the hands of the American people would be spent on American manufactured goods thereby creating demand for more jobs. Today, the rebate check spent at Walmart on Chinese manufactured goods will increase Chinese factory output and jobs.

With the pandemic the wonderful low wage service economy the globalists gave us in exchange for middle class manufacturing jobs is in shambles. A year from now the Chinese will still have factories capable of producing goods for the planet. The US will have shuttered storefronts where nail salons, dog spas, and restaurants once existed.

The GOPE step and fetch its are waiting for the Democrats to tell them what to do since Trump threw a monkey wrench into these pork infested payoffs to everybody but American citizens. When the Democrats figure out how to proceed they will tell the GOPE how to proceed.

Trump should have justified the increase based on cutting support for illegal aliens from $1800 to ZERO.

In normal times I agree completely. But the China-virus has caused unreal collapse in economy and calls for unusual steps. The economy must not be allowed to implode. After the economy gets close to normal again, that will be the appropriate time to tighten belts. You don’t tighten belts of a hungry person.
