Following the news today Attorney Lin Wood responded to the development.
Lin Wood @LLinWood Bill Barr is a Patriot. His letter to @realDonaldTrump was excellent. I believe Barr will announce major moves before 12/23 but does not want to stay to prosecute. I am not a lawyer, and I’m certainly not familiar with all the things that an AG of the US has to consider and balance.
Not being as bright as many of the armchair warriors here on FR, I have to rely on the knowledge of others whom I’ve come to respect due to the evidence available to me of their actions.
A number of those people have continued to express their respect for William Barr - not the least of them being General Flynn, who just today spoke to his respect for Barr, whom Flynn views as a ‘good and honest’ man.
I have not had any reason to doubt Flynn’s judgment, intelligence, knowledge, patriotism or loyalty. I’m sure they are as great, or greater, than those of anyone playing ‘social media games’ - anonymously! - here on FR.
I guess each of us does have to remain true to his own lights.

Well, we can say he didn't have a sex scandal, or maybe there hasn't been any questions raised about his financial standing, or there has been no charges of pedophilia against him, yep sterling character.
