Halloween is well behind us, Thanksgiving nothing more than a gravy spotted memory. It’s December 2 and Christmas is but 23 days away, whether you intend to do any shopping or not.
We have no idea what will happen next in the electoral drama we’ve all been unwittingly cast as extras in. History feels as though it’s out of our hands at this point. For these and many other reasons I feel we all need a little Christmas. So…

Post your Christmas themed pics, thoughts or comments. And you’ll be forgiven if they contain a somewhat secular message this year as we live in interesting times.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Everywhere you go
Take a look at the five and ten, it’s glistening once again
With candy canes and silver lanes that glow
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Toys in every store
But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be
On your own front door
A pair of hopalong boots and a pistol that shoots
Is the wish of Barney and Ben
Dolls that’ll talk and will go for a walk
Is the hope of Janice and Jen
And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Everywhere you go
There’s a tree in the Grand Hotel, one in the park as well
It’s the sturdy kind that doesn’t mind the snow
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Soon the bells will start
And the thing that’ll make ‘em ring is the carol that you sing
Right within your heart
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Toys in every store
But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be
On your own front door
Sure, it’s Christmas once more

I think this year, people are especially “desperate” for Christmas. Decorations seem earlier than usual and people are decorating more. After being kept away from family & faith gatherings for the better part of the year, people are craving the ‘togetherness’ that occurs at Christmas. People need some joy & happiness - it’s been a “dark” year for many. Those that would try to keep Christmas from happening (state/health authorities, #ShutUpFauci) are not going to be successful in preventing Christmas from happening. Hopefully, it will be the beginning of getting back to “normal” ... NOT a ‘new’ normal.
I work in Christian radio, and on my morning show we’ve been talking a lot about how our world needs the hope of Christmas more than ever this year. Be patient and kind to others. If you run into a Scrooge this Christmas, take a moment and think about the character from Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. He made some bad choices and lost his way, but in the end he was reminded of what’s important: love, hope, family and faith.
Here are a few old(er) Christmas movies that I love to watch every year:
A Star In the Night- 1945
An American Christmas Carol - 1979
Angel In the House (aka Foster) - 2010
Mr. Krueger’s Christmas - 1980
The House Without a Christmas Tree - 1972
Christmas Dance (aka Come Dance with Me) - 2012
The Angel Doll - 2002
Merry Christmas!
I hope Christmas is still legal next year.
Just because ... I am thinking of leaving my Christmas stuff up until either Trump is sworn in for his second term or all the COVID crap disappears, whichever comes first.
A lot of folks still have their Trump/Pence signs up. A sign of support, I suspect.
In the last week or so, I am seeing a lot of COVID crap “debunking”, for lack of a better term - some examples:
“Positive” does not mean you have COVID - PCR test is not very accurate & they are “spinning” samples too much, which will result in false positives.
The Johns Hopkins study - overall deaths for the year are not more than previous years.
Continuing info that COVID death numbers are very suspect - when motorcycle accident deaths are reported as COVID, there’s a problem.
SCOTUS ruling allowing worship to happen again. Bars, gymns, & other businesses are not super spreader locations. Business closings (who has to close) are arbitrary.
Damage to kids from being kept out of school/online learning is mounting.
Financial damage, suicides, delayed treatment issues, etc. - evidence is piling up that this is going to be worse than COVID & ‘we the people’ are really beginning to notice. Officials are more and more being brazen about doing what they want in opposition to their own orders - hypocrisy is at incredible levels. SCIENCE is NOT being followed, just the whims of (mostly) DemonRat tyrants. There are some Repub exceptions who are also following the DemonRat example(s).
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
On and on it goes ... people are being openly defiant about tyrannical orders from tyrannical governors, health officials, etc. (who don’t follow their own orders) I think maximum frustration/disgust levels are being reached. Add that to outrage over the fraudulent election & think there are going to be some events that really demonstrate the frustration/anger.
They are counting on us. We are showing enthusiasm for fighting it off it is encouraging them.
When we win - they win.
Soros and his sorry-@$$ed gang have no idea what they have unleashed.
Your post is spot on. Everyone is sick and tired of politics and CoVid nonsense (but I repeat myself).
We are ready for something to be cheerful and happy about.
Those Grinches won’t stop Christmas from coming and from being celebrated, no matter how hard they try!!
