The Democratic mayor of San Jose, California, has issued an apology for violating COVID-19 safety rules for Thanksgiving after urging everyone else to follow them.

He *apologized*.
He still had his nice evening out while demanding others not.
Sometimes apologies just fall flat and when it’s a political move to try to save face, it’s meaningless.
