Election predictions
original to Free Republic | Nov 1 2020 | Peter O'Donnell

So, time to share your insights, what will be the results of the historic election on Tuesday?

Here's my take -- first of all, disclaimer, I think there is a considerable chance of vote-counting irregularities contaminating one or more of the states, with legal challenges to come.

So with that partly clouding the outcome, I think Trump takes this by a slightly larger margin than last time, like around 340-198, and that he takes most of the states often mentioned as battlegrounds, plus one or two that seemed out of reach, maybe even a NY or a CA.

That is all dependent on a reasonably fair count. And we all know that is by no means guaranteed.

What do you think will happen?

Democrats steal AZ, MI, NC and PA through vote fraud ... BUT Trump wins nationwide popular vote and is awarded 196 EVs via National Popular Vote Compact and wins the election.

Wouldn’t that be a laugh?

I hope I’m not living in a positive bubble but I agree with you and actually think he may have a chance of taking California. Oh what a day that would be. If I am not seeing things right then maybe I have been watching too many YouTube videos. I just can’t see the enthusiasm for Biden and I believe hate for Trump only brings out committee lefties.

Hope you’re wrong. I think the down tickets will be more likely to be straight party.

Trump’s coattails are much larger this time around.

Especially hoping for Forrest to unseat Cooper in NC.

The high courts are generally keeping order regarding after-deadline mail votes. Some freaky exceptions.

Likely a bunch of court battles the rest of Nov deciding mail and signature questions.

If these can be controlled there is a bit of hope.

My prediction: Trump wins with all the states he won in 2016, plus VA, NH, ME (at large), MN, NM, and NV. Think you’ll see close margins in ME1, RI, CT, NJ, NY, DE, IL, CA, OR,, WA and HI. I think at least 3 pick ups (no losses) in AL, MI and MN (and maybe 3 surprises to) and 25 to 35 house seat wins.

I believe Trump will take all 30 states that he took in 2016, plus NH, NM, MN, and NV. He’ll dramatically increase his popular vote totals in most states, including all the normally democrat states, particularly NY and CA.

If Iowa is correct, Trump has won. The only states I see as at risk are PA and AZ and I think I’ve moved AZ to Trump. Today I have PA in Trump’s column as light red.

I think MI will seal the deal and possibly WI.

When I move the states I believe are on the bubble - Trump has the easier path to victory.

I mentioned in another thread that I would expect some of the Libertarian vote of past elections to slide over to Trump, surely the prospect of a Biden/Harris administration would chill any Libertarian and get them thinking that the usual vote on principle would be better off given to the almost-libertarian Donald Trump.

Meanwhile over on the left, perhaps more Greens who won’t vote Democrat any longer. The Green vote has reached 5% in BC where I live so why not also in Pac NW states? And our Greens have a closer alternative in the mainstream left than American greens would have. (assuming Greens probably don’t trust Biden to deliver much of what he promises on their agenda, which for me is a Biden positive) :)

“I’m not convinced that the Marxists will lose this one. The Democrats and the “deep state” were caught off guard in 2016, but they’ve gone to insane lengths from the very day after the last election to make his re-election extremely difficult.”

Agreed — and this doesn’t just affect the Presidential race but every single other one on the ballot as well: federal, state or local. How can the Democrats possibly NOT steal this one, when it is easier than it has ever been to commit massive vote fraud and the stakes are higher than they’ve ever been?

Trump and the GOP better be ready to do everything possible to reverse the effects of the fraud. Trump may be ready; the GOP? Yeah, right. The rest of us better be ready to handle the situation in a different manner, because that’s all we CAN do. Lock and load and prepare to defend yourself, your family, your property, your friends, your neighborhood and your way of life — with as aggressive of a “defense” as possible.

".... Yeah, I’m worried....

I was a mortgage banker for years. We had a saying about worrying.

Worrying is like the interest on a loan you don't owe. You don't owe it so stop worrying about it.

Being concerned is one thing. But worrying about something you can't do anything about, is a waste of time and energy.

My parents taught me a trick about worrying myself sick before big tests in school. The only time during my school years that I was allowed to go out on a school night, was the night before a big test. Go out to the movies, eat some popcorn and relax. Then attack the test the next day. But don't worry yourself silly about it beforehand. Study hard and then relax. I was an A student. It worked for me.

Don't fret over whether Trump will win or not. Vote for him and relax and watch the outcome. My guess is that he will do fine and continue to make a great president.

I think there will be many democrats voting for Trump who simply didn’t understand him previously.

For example, this woman’s before and after tweets. Start at minute 10:47:

Well, all I can say to you is cent’ anni!!!! It would work better as a toast with good wine but this will have to do :)

You’re a good man. That much is obvious.

And I will pray for Trump...and you are right. He is definitely being used by God for great purpose.

You’d think he’d be my favorite coming from NYC and all. I shook his hand once at Rockefeller Plaza where I worked.

I guess Ronald Reagan brings back the teen years so that gives him an edge :)

Rudy’s insane :) I would be way too afraid to do what he is doing.

This may be the last time I get to be this proud of a couple of guys who grew up in NYC.

buona notte

We can all toast together Tuesday night when President Trump wins!

I would tell you I am not perfect but I AM FORGIVEN.

I wish someday to meet President Trump but all I can do now is donate a small gift to his campaign which I have done.

Pray for Rudy G that his message will be heard and acted on.

There are many fine people that grew up in NYC and I believe it will return greater than ever before.

Stay strong in the Lord!

Worth recalling that last time out, the result was supposed to be 306-232, two “faithless electors” on Trump’s side and five on HRC’s side made the actual count 304-227. The five who defected from HRC obviously wanted to make humorous or other types of political statements, but the two refusing to endorse Trump set a rather dangerous precedent for a closer situation than 2016 turned out to be.

Also worth recalling that about one in five here imagined that Trump would win, I seem to remember doing this same thread and getting a lot of “that damned woman” predictions.
