Someone I know who is a member of the police auxiliary has been told to "stand by" / vote ASAP / not plan on going out of town for the next week / alert his regular employer that he may not be available because there is a high degree of probability that he will called upon to assist the regular police with expected unrest next week.
What are you hearing from the people you know who are regular, aux, or retired police and or military?
Last I heard was that 5000 were being mobilized in Texas for deployment to the major cities.

The total number of emergency services personnel in the US are just a drop in the bucket compared to the number of armed and trained citizens.
This is a strong limiting factor to where rioters can riot.
Add to that emergency services personnel can change location to where trouble is brewing.

The 36th infantry division MP companies of the Texas National Guard are on stand by that’s 300 MPs and support ready to go. I still know people in the unit after I ETS they were put on stand by from the governor.

My daughter is a paramedic and Emergency Management team member in a large hospital. My SOn in-law is a state trooper. My wife works at another large hospital.
They are preparing for “stuff”. Nothing horrifying. Nothing specific.
The State troopers are always prepping for something. I’ve never seen a group that trains for this stuff as they do.
The prep stuff in the hospitals is pretty much “IF things go bad”....but they have been in “things gone bad” mode for six months. So,nothing really worrisome.

If your Mayor or local leaders are Republicans you have absolutely nothing to worry about.
If they are Democrats you are totally f&^%ed.
