I haven’t followed closely, but I thought he was a poster boy for talking, complaining, investigating... and doing Nothing.
My feeling is that Gowdy is a bad pick.
What power do you perceive Gowdy had in a Demorat House? All he did was highlight, and that is the extent of what he could do.
Even if the House retained its historical power of arrest, the Speaker would not let that stand, nor would the Sergeant of Arms.
So again, what could have Trey done?
The same message is seeping out from several sources, showing that the meme is contrived for a strategy. I would call it ‘fake news’ but it is more pernicious than that.

We have to make DC bend to the will of the people. It must be done. If we have to make Trump ‘Caesar’ to do it then down that road we must go.
Like Nunes, all he did was highlight wrongdoing. Exposing. He had no power under a Demorat-led House.
It bothers me people think he had some sort of special power to stop anything. If he highlights an issue and people don’t take action, what is he to do?
An AG and a FBI director that stood on the sidelines, and an unsympathetic Speaker of the House.
A no-win situation.
Those guys have probably already destroyed all the evidence.
This article is a misrepresentation of Trump. Party affiliation is what is being used here rather than incompetence. They are being released because they did a terrible job not within the needs of the president and the people which these offices have to accommodate and didn’t. Same as any other job stipulation. They were terminated for failure to perform, not for being liberal.
It’s these types of articles that damn the president for being political which has nothing to do with it. These people were just another tool to throw under the bus to attack the president by the liberal media for buloshavic reasons to change minds at the polls (or mail in ballots).

I’m not sure what the purpose of leaking this out there at this time is. What are they trying to achieve by saying the FBI director and others will be canned? I love it, long overdue, but I wonder what the strategy behind this leak is right before election day.
He should act today, not wait until c. Nov. 4. He should also commute the sentence of former U.S. Rep. Steve Stockman, R-TX, the victim of a Democrat legal smear.

Whoever leaked this information should be fired right along with them. Leaking has to stop. That should be priority No. 1 after re-election.

The Republicans were in control of House of Representatives Gowdy's entire tenure. Gowdy was elected in 2010 when the Republicans took control of the House and retired just before the 2018 election when the Democrats recaptured the House.
All he did was highlight, and that is the extent of what he could do.
You realize that you just affirmed my argument. You just stated the all he did was highlight and then justified it with an incorrect assumption. IMO, all Gowdy did was highlight and very little else. I would hope that President Trump would put a doer at the head of the FBI who would get some positive accomplished.
He didn’t bring anyone to jail. He didn’t have the power. That is my point.
Gowdy brought out the lies. Then no one did anything.
