Pollster Who Got It Right in 2016 Says ‘Hidden Vote’ Will Carry Trump to Victory Again

Robert Cahaly, a chief pollster for the Trafalgar Group, believes there is a “hidden vote” missing from most polls and envisions a President Trump victory.

Cahaly made the prediction during an interview with Fox News personality Sean Hannity.

“I see the president winning with a minimum high 270s and possibly going up significantly higher based on just how big this undercurrent is,” he said.

President Trump or Joe Biden would need 270 electoral votes to win the White House.

“What we’ve noticed is that these polls are predominantly missing the hidden Trump vote,” he continued. “There is a clear feeling among conservatives and people that are for the president that they’re not interested in sharing their opinions readily.”

“These people are more hesitant to participate in polls,” Cahaly added. “So if you’re not compensating for this, you’re not going to get honest answers.”

...

“We had the best poll in five of the battleground states in 2016. And I actually predicted 306 to 232 on the electoral college.”

They repeated their incredible successes in 2018.

Since we screen all our phone calls (mainly against telemarketers, not pollsters), we are “hidden” by default!!!!

Gee, how could that be? Don't they WANT to get doxxed, canceled, assaulted, graffitti'd, yelped, harassed, and threatened? Why wouldn't they want to admit they support Trump to some douche on the phone who has your name, number, and address and could be from MoveOn.org, BLM, Antifa, or the DNC?

I simply can't figure it out. /s

Hidden Trump voters are fine by me.... But frankly, I don’t understand this mentality..... Probably because I am so enraged by the bias of the media, and pop culture in general, that I go out of my way to express my Conservatism in mixed company, just to see who gets pissed off, and who just squirms uncomfortably

Well stated.

I’ve come to think that the most revealing poll question of all would be:

“How willing are you to cooperate with pollsters?”

The number of respondents answering “never” would reveal a lot about the state of our politics.

Personally, even before the onset of cancel culture, I realized that answering polls was an intrusion on my time with nothing in return.

I love the dems gaslighting themselves by making certain positions or opinions unspeakable without the potential for actual consequences, thereby making any polling or surveying worthless and then relying on the worthless polls to guide their strategery... I’m sure it is all sewn up nice and pretty, according to their numbers... BWAHAHAHAHAHA

“How willing are you to cooperate with pollsters?”

Replace “cooperate” with “mess with”, then I could handle it.

I've received a lot of phone calls from unknown numbers (I never answer them) in the past a few weeks. I'm sure they're pollsters/robo-calls, etc.

I can't block texts (I won't pay for it), and I got some that encourage me to vote Biden or help the campaign (yeah, like help it die a horrible death!).

I use Robokiller to screen my calls and SMS traffic. Highly effective.

On Freep none but out in public I think a hell of a lot because look what happens if people openly express their support for Trump, they get attacked like Jews in 1930s Germany

God I hope this is right. Just the thought of going back to the way things were 3 years, but probably even worse this time. It makes me feel like my heart is sinking in to my chest and I’m not enjoying this feeling. This is only my 4 President and my second President that I’m actually an adult. Clinton I don’t remember much. Bush was eh but definitely better then Gore was. Obama was horrible I was living paycheck to paycheck in a crappy apartment that I could barely afford. Please God I don’t want to go back to that. Things are so much better and even my co workers lives a noticeable much better too under Trump.

Pennsylvania is 20 electoral votes. So if President Trump carries all the states he won last time he could afford to lose Pennsylvania.

Thanks for responding to my post.

I haven’t messed with pollster since at least before the 2016 election.

People’s Pundit does ask that question. Also asks who do you think your neighbor is voting for? How comfortable are you telling people who you are voting for? Family? Friends? Coworkers? Neighbors?

I know nothing about this poll. Followed a link from FR.

Thanks for that information.

Although I have to give People’s Pundit some credit for asking those questions, the missing piece here is the share of voters who won’t take part in a poll under any circumstances.

I suspect it’s large and growing. But how large?

At any rate, I won’t cooperate with the media in any way whatsoever — and that’s coming from an old retired reporter/editor.

When I started my newspaper career in the 1980s, fresh out the Army, I worked for liberal editors who knew I was a conservative but were cool with it, considering I wrote well, made my deadlines, and didn’t screw up my facts.

I always thought that the main qualification for a reporter/editor was respect for facts. Today’s journalists wouldn’t know a fact if they tripped over it.

That’s been my strong feeling as well this election cycle. I moved a while back from one state to another. Due to this I have an area code that is across the country from where I actually live.

During the runup to this election year I’ve noticed the spam calls from the old area code have gone up 500%. I guess I don’t have proof since I don’t answer the calls but I just suspect that some large number of these calls are pollsters that are calling based on my old area code.

I do think that polls could be missing huge swaths of the voting public due to people not answering these calls.

Every election cycle there is some trend that comes out after the fact that sort of upends conventional thinking. Maybe this is the story of this cycle - people screening their calls.
