Despite attempts by David Letterman to get her to bash President Donald Trump, Kim Kardashian reportedly declined to do so and instead expressed gratitude for the administrations implementation of criminal justice sentencing reform.
Trump foe Letterman interviewed Kardashian, the spouse of presidential candidate Kanye West, on a wide range of topics in the first episode of his Netflix show My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, which drops on October 21. The content of the show generally consists of liberal Letterman pandering to the egos of various celebrities.
Kardashian famously met with Trump in the White House Oval Office in May 2018 as a proponent for the release of Alice Marie Johnson, who was serving a life sentence for drug trafficking-related offenses, a term of imprisonment that many believed was unjust and disproportionate. Trump subsequently commuted the sentence of Johnson (and later pardoned her), who was one of the featured speakers at the Republican National Convention in August.
The Trump administration also enacted the First Step Act, which resulted in the release of thousands of convicted felons who met certain criteria to get a second chance of becoming productive citizens. Johnson is now a criminal justice reform advocate.
Hopefully, for the next multiple administrations, Ill be working with the White House, helping them with clemencies, Kardashian told Dave in the spirt of non-partisanship....

people grow up and she started her reality show as a stupid kid.....I would hate the world to see how shallow and self absorbed I was in my teens and early twenties. I suspect that we will see more good mature things out of her.
And now it sounds like he is against Trumps sentencing and prison reform that releases minorities for non violent crimes. Could Letterman be a closet racist and white supremist. Look at the non dog whistle evidence and you decide.
Ice Cube would be wise to join up with a good tested reformer like Robert Woodson and really lend his name to a productive cause instead of wasting it on ideas that have failed repeatedly.
I remember back in the early ‘90s, A&E reran his shows from the early to mid 1980s period and many of those were cool to watch, with the guests, etc. I agree with the both of you that the last number of years he was on TV he really was not that watchable, basically anti-Republican stuff that was pretty tired.
I think she is looking at life with a wider focus than just the present life. Maybe she has begun to wonder what happens when this one is over. She sounds like a kinder, gentler person. I am happy to know there is more to her.
After his his heart attack/surgery, he seemed to become very bitter and angry. I’ve heard that’s not uncommon.
Letterman could be incredibly wacky and inventive in his late night NBC show. When he moved to CBS and the earlier time slot, he was basically just phoning it in and not putting in much effort. Part of the reason was the assumption that the audience for the earlier time slot didn’t like weird, edgy stuff. But he also got rich, tired, overprivileged, and lazy.
One of my favorite bits was when he dropped stuff out a 4 story building.
Loss of the Tonight Show gig made him a bitter A-hole, and his move to CBS was just not funny and boring. I quit watching after a couple of months and never went back.
Netflix
He can croak.
I mean her husband claims to have become very religious. He seems to follow the prosperity gospel (the Joel Osteens etc fo the world), which I have a LOT of issues with, but I have no reason to doubt he’s moving in the right direction. His music lately has been gospel focused actually. I am sure it has rubbed off on her as well.
I tried to watch Letterman a few times because so many people I knew thought he was hilarious. I very quickly saw that he was not a comedian in the vein of a true comedian like Jonathan Winters or the old Steve Martin or Milton Berle or Johnny Carson. Letterman is a degrader. He uses putdown humor and revels in the misery of others. His “humor” is simply a lower scale mockery of true humor. I avoid him now, like I do the foul-mouthed stand-up “comics”.
Glenn Beck is another toobinhead who feeds off the misery of others. A pox on all of them.
This may sound strange, but I found my attack and triple bypass to be a liberating experience. Small things ceased to matter and I was able to see things far more clearly. I’ve always had a dry, B. Newhart sense of humor and if anything it grew sharper.
Bob Newhart.....one of the very best.
Shame...
Surprising, but these times are showing who people really are.
Liberals have become less than less funny each year as they gain more and more power over popular culture.....back in the 60’s/70’s, they were the young rebels poking fun at the stodgy establishment.....now that they are the Establishment, they’ve transformed into humorless, dead serious, scolding enforcers of “correct think”
Ain’t that the truth.
She is head & shoulders above Kanye.
I wonder if those women realize that there are a number of fish who look like that with their lips???
