No one has a reliable photo of one of these things and no carcass of one has ever been found.

Not exactly true. Bill Muns makes costumes for Hollywood movies including films like Mighty Joe Young. He has analyzed the Patterson, Gimlan film as a professional costume maker and come to the conclusion that it could not be a costume, especially one made by amateurs in 1968. The materials simply were not available.
Deer shed their antlers every year. I've lived in the country and hunted all my life. In over 50 years, I've only found one antler.
I’ll expand on that - it would take a significant number of them to sustain a viable population, and not just ten or twelve or twenty. There’s much less acreage of deep, inacessible wilderness than there was even fifty years ago and it’s not contiguous. They’d have to have developed a tribal social structure like many primates do, and I’d expect a means of interacting with other tribes some distance away. That would mean traversing areas where humans dwell, exposing themselves. Someone would have produced conclusive evidence of their existence by now, even if by accident.
Not true.
Theyre sneaky.
Same goes for the infamous Black Panther (Black Mountain Lion). Thousands claim to have seen one and yet not one picture of one. Millions of game camera’s in use all over the US and not one picture. Damn near every hunter carries a camera or a video camera with them anymore and still no pic’s. Thousands of Mountain Lions are photographed every year, many are shot and yet still no black one. Plain and simple, there are no melanistic Mountain Lions. Anybody claiming to have seen one is either confused or out right lying.
Search the Patterson film, from the 1960s. No way that's a guy in a suit.
