Thou shalt not mock the left, certainly not with an election looming.
In Saturdays New York Times, tech reporter Kevin Roose talked with Times reporter Emma Goldberg about her previous humor-impaired article regarding The Babylon Bees brand of satire, which is controversial among the left and the media because unlike The Onion it mocks political figures and ideas other than Donald Trump and the GOP.
Rooses piece appeared under the hostile but representative headline How The Babylon Bee, a Right-Wing Satire Site, Capitalizes on Confusion." The paper blurbed Roose's story on Saturdays front page under the heading Distortions. The print headline was no less hostile: A Right-Wing Satire Site That Sometimes Tricks a Bit Too Well.
The site recently received renewed interest after Trump forwarded a Babylon Bee piece that referenced the social-media squelched New York Post story on Hunter Biden.

While The NYT just traffics in misinformation.
The NYT has no sense of humor.
While The NYT just traffics in misinformation.
And that
When you’re disparaged by the New York Times...you know you’ve made the big-time.
Good on the Babylon Bee.
Why is the New York Times worried about the Babylon bee?
Marxists don’t have a sense of humor.
THis is how the LEFT WING Daily Show got started — all fun and games first season... then it went full Left Political after that touting itself as a serious contender to those “yutes” seeking real news, but for a laugh... the guy on it now (if it is still running) is a want-a-be Don Lemon — nothing funny about it - and why would anyone watch it..
The Babylon Bee is actually funny and brings to light how stupid the LEFT actually is — & gullible...!
The New York Slimes is Babylon Bee without the humor.
They are just angry that our comedians are actually funny. Their comedians have been angry and unfunny for years. Humor gets the point across well, but they have so much hate built up they come across as mean instead of funny.
Totalitarians know that humor is a weapon.
Natan Sharansky mentions (in his recent book) that, when he was being interrogated by the KGB, he would look the officers in the eye and tell anti-government jokes. They were not permitted to laugh, and he would taunt them, “You know you think this is hilarious, but you can’t admit it! You’re the slaves, and I’m free!”
The New York Slimes is Babylon Bee without the humor.
Youve got that right.
The left are the most humor challenged people I have ever met.
They have no sense of humor, nor do they get subtlety.
Tongue in cheek is lost on them.
“KR: Like, one from the other day was called NBA Players Wear Special Lace Collars to Honor Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
EG: People were sharing that thinking it was real.”
Not. LOL.
“The NYT has no sense of humor.”
Nor did DER STUERMER
Comedy is dead...
...and the left killed it.
The Babylon Bee is effective in mocking the left, and that’s what is really bothering the NYT. So they put forward a weak argument about the Bee disguising misinformation as comedy, as if left-wing satire doesn’t already do that to a much greater degree.
Well, as long as they spelled their name right.....
NYT, winners of the Walter Duranty Award for honesty and ethics in journalism
...which is, of course, a good definition of satire.
