Well, yeah, but a 1984 movie does not explain why Ruy heard the word in 1968...

To: Travis McGee
As long as patriots have jobs that pay their bills, mortgages on their homes, payments on their cars and boats and ATV's, kids in college and high school, soccer practice during the week and games on the weekends, there ain't gonna be a civil war............
The question isn't who is going to fire the first shot but who is going to have their back?
You might as well start chowing down on your MRE's Matt because 30 years from now they're going to taste like crap.............
To: tired&retired
Is there lime involved in the response plan, or pigs?
That’s a rhetorical question.

As far as comms go. Get the Walker Razor Slims with walkie talkie attachment. It’s $70 bucks out the door for FRS radio. It’s good out to 600 yards at least.
Yea yea. I know Baofangs are better, but FRS can be used today, right now without a license. The a Taliban have been using Motorola hand held FRS in the most torturous terrain on Earth for 20 years. Anyone beat them yet?
That’s what I thought.

Yup.
Time is short, though.

I’ve got 2 sets of
FRS radios and they
are good for a couple
miles and run on store
bought batteries.
I just need a “Posse!”

I’m a pacifist and understand the power of prayer and God’s plan for us.
Proper organization can stop violence and work toward a peaceful loving solution.
Jesus taught us to Love our enemies. There is good reason for that as the Loving energy is feared by them more than death itself. A prayerful blessing for an evil person is like placing hot coals upon their head.
If we get angry, we lower ourselves and become like them. We lose.

I too, love peace and am a peace maker, if at all possible. However, I sold my cloak and bought a sword long ago.
It is easier to persuade for peace from a position of power then to beg for it from evil men.
Innocents rely on powerful men to keep them safe and free.

You can sleep soundly, knowing that rough men like many of us, stand ready to do (lawful) violence on your behalf.

Travis McGee :" If you purchase the CDM, I strongly suggest that you read it now, from front to back. Dont wait, because it will take some time to get an NPP up and running.
The two volumes of the CDM blend hard data and information, contributions by subject-matter experts, short fiction and non-fiction survival vignettes,
and Jack Lawsons own African combat experiences and survival philosophy.
In this review, I have only touched on a few key concepts found in this truly encyclopedic work.
After you have read and digested the complete Civil Defense Manual, you will be miles ahead of the herd in the coming survival derby.
You will not only learn how to protect your own home, but how to defend your entire neighborhood by pooling all of its combined talents and resources for the common defense through strength in numbers.
By doing so, you will be maintaining vital pockets of civil society amidst a roiling sea of violence and barbarism. "
Enough said !
Read the OP and comments for further information.

*PREPPER BUMP*Thanks for the ping.
Two things: Always save a bullet for yourself and, thanks for the reminder; I want to buy Beau a nice set of Walkie Talkies for Christmas.
We keep saying we're going to get them, because out here we have terrible cell reception (though we can SEE the tower from our farm!) If he dumped the tractor or got the skid steer stuck, he can't even call me from our own property for help!
Now how 'prepared' is that? Not very! ;)
I am looking at a highly-rated pair from Cobra, rechargeable, water and dust proof, 38 mile range, which would be plenty. About $70 with tax and charger dock. Any other Walkie Talkie suggestions/brands would be appreciated!
