Steve Scully got a clear vote of confidence last Friday, from a host of popular Republicans the morning after a tweet from his Twitter account sparked an outcry in the political media.
Fox News Host Chris Wallace, Fox News analyst Karl Rove, former Trump White House press secretary Sean Spicer, former chairman of the RNC Frank Fahrenkopf, came to Steve Scully's defense.
These comments did not age well, after Steve Scully admitted to lying.

Can anybody explain to me why Rove is back?
He seemed to have vanished for a couple years and it was magnificent!
the worst one is Scaramucci, because at least all the other ones are only guilty of wishful thinking and generalized TDS. Scaramucci would have actual knowledge of the fact they were in a private convseration.
Spicer is just not an alpha. A Republican press sec needs must be.
I never trust self-serving denials, especially when the liar used to work for a Democrat politician. Exactly how hard is that to figure out.
The individuals I know in the "media", to a sociopathic level, don't recognize, value, nor seek out Truth.
Things are happening fast. It was less than 2 hours ago that Scully was suspended.
An alpha would not have been played by a woman comedienne (Melissa McCarthy) on SNL as Spicer was.
He admitted the lie after a professional investigation was initiated by C-SPAN.
I just read CSPAN comments where they pretty much say.....
But, he’s really a great honest and fair guy”
And he’s not been fired, only “suspended”.
The three are under contract with the network and were put on air to back up one of its talents. And the three performed like trained poodles.
Rove s swime!
Brit Hume is right of center, mostly. 51/49.
NOT a REAL conservative.
These people live in deep blue America, they never venture out of it. PT hired too many DC insiders, that is the one thing he did wrong.

Yet another career seriously damaged or ruined by a Twitter account. Is there something about being on Twitter that makes people do stupid things and then pretend it wasn’t them?
It’s like people buying a firearm and then shooting themselves because they can’t control their trigger finger.
If they actually thought it was plausible that Scully was hacked, they should all be fired.
The RNC & supposedly the fraudulent Commission on Presidential Debates reported to the FBI and asked it be investigated ... since the Tweet was originally reported as having originated from an iPhone it wasn’t hard to guess that it was not a “hack” which would have been presented as having originated from their web client or browser. When the FBI inquired Scully and the Commission on Presidential Debates were caught lying and had to admit the truth or face false statement charges (not to mention FRAUD)
They are all safe. The Mafia envies the loyalty of journalists to errant colleagues.
Send Scully to journalist rehab.
Out of a nation full of ‘interviewers’, Scully was chosen-—and he certainly did show his true colors.....
