First Presidential Debate Quick Take: Aggressive Trump, Old Biden
Legal Insurrection ^ | September 29, 2020 | William A. Jacobson

Andrew Sullivan: “I’ve never seen Biden seem so old or so weak. He can’t land a strong blow. He’s being successfully heckled. I want to look away.” What a s–tshow. Chris Wallace was horrible, at times literally arguing with Trump, and continually reprimanding Trump for interrupting when interruptions were bipartisan during the debate — Biden did it continually...Trump did very well on law and order. Just when Biden had a potentially deadly moment of debate silence when Trump pressed him to name a single law enforcement group that supported Biden, and Biden had no answer, Wallace saved him by changing the subject. I don’t think Trump won people over, but I could see Biden’s image as the supposed nice guy being damaged....

My take:

Biden exceeded expectations and did well. Some actually said Biden wouldn’t even show up. Biden spoke a lot of lies but he said them smoother than I expected. I doubt he is called out on any of them. Trump did very well and in certain segments he definitely rocked. But Trump interrupted too much. No KO. Opportunity missed.

I think Trump did very well on Law and Order, on Reopening, and on the Economy. I think those are the really important issues right now. People are tired of the virus. They want to move back toward a normal life. Trump did do a good job of framing that.

Biden did a good job looking into the camera and speaking directly to the people. He also had emotional tones in his voice at times, and that connects very well with suburban moms. I think Biden gets a big boost with the suburban mom crowd from this.

I think Trump wasted a lot of time with the Hunter Biden stuff. People don’t care. Biden was smart not to hammer the Trump tax stuff too much. Again, people don’t care.

I don’t think Biden’s renouncing of the Green Deal or other leftwing agendas will hurt him too much, because the left will figure, “Well who ELSE am I going to vote for?”

I also see that while Trump will be likely losing some suburban moms for his being aggressive, he’s picking up 66% approvals from Hispanics and many black men for the no-BS nature.

On the whole, I’d say it’s a wash. We cannot trust the media polls at all, and with the planned fraud, I suspect we cannot trust the poll that will occur the entire month of November, instead of November third, when it should have been decided.

And so much better than:

* Deer-In-the-Headlights GWB, and...

* “Let me be clear” Obama

[But Trump interrupted too much.]

That was how Biden stomped Paul Ryan. It was precisely the right thing to do. Thanks to the media not covering it, very few know about Joe’s $3.5m Russian payoff routed through his son, Hunter. Now they’ve at least heard of it.

Wrong. Trump destroyed this loser. Complete destruction

Don’t expect another debate or it will be biased in the extreme

He pressed on several issues Joe had NO ANSWER

Hey Joe ! Name one just one law enforcement out of 7783 that support you can see buddy!

Hey Joe! Why did your son get 3 1/2 million dollars from the wife of the mayor in Moscow buddy?

Hey Joel! Why won’t you answer the question about packing the court buddy?

There must be 500 lines like that

Trump had some very good moments and some not so great ones. That’s probably not the right way to assess the net impact of it though. I’m going to listen to what Scott Adams says about it. He has a
different way of analyzing these things.

As a suburban mom, all I care about at this point is getting my teens back in their high schools.

I have a tyrannical governor and I shouldn’t have to move to another state for my children to attend high school.

I wish Trump would do more, but I know sure as hell Biden won’t.

Teachers unions. There are too many teachers. Everyone knows someone who is a teacher and there are too many votes there. And women—lots of teachers!— now vote more than men.

Scott Adams is amaxing. I listen to him every day now.

I think Trump’s only weakness was not answering the “why should I vote for you” question correctly.

He talked about judge appointments only.

He should be able to list so many of his accomplishments in 2 minutes. He has so many, and so many good plans for the next 4 years too. Staring with reopening the economy.

Biden really trashed Ryan 8 years ago and he didn’t get away with that tonight.

Somehow Biden sounded better than he usually does lately. Be nice to know how they pulled that off.

Old, indeed! Read through the transcript carefully, when you can get it. Some of Biden’s contradictions of his own words and some of his other slips were hilarious!

Biden was medicated you could see it in his eyes and he stared into the camera which you can bet his handlers taught him to do that. Television gimmick.

CSPAN: ✅ Trump (53% Trump; 29% Biden) Telemundo: ✅ Trump (66% Trump; 34% Biden) CNN: ✅ Trump (3 votes Trump; 1 vote Biden of decided voters) --------------- Read it and weep, Biden no-hopers.

The best thing about this debate is: if there is another debate, Biden may overcompensate for being so weak and meek.

“ I also see that while Trump will be likely losing some suburban moms for his being aggressive...”

Oh, those suburban moms that faithfully watch the Housewives of Bozotown every week, where they get their jollies watching women having drunken brawls, shouting matches and the occasional porn pool fights...those women are going to be offended by Trump be aggressive with ol’ sci-fi eyes Biden? These women that love the Tiger King and Love in Lock-up are going to flock over to sweet geezer Biden? Uh huh.
