Nine Ohio counties are now under red alert in the states coronavirus advisory system, with Cuyahoga County continuing a step lower at orange for the the sixth consecutive week, Gov. Mike DeWine announced Thursday.
The red counties because of growing or lingering COVID-19 spread include the addition of five this week - Ashland, Delaware, Pike, Scioto and Stark. Four others remain there from the previous week - Butler, Mercer, Montgomery and Putnam.
A week ago there were five red counties, the lowest number since DeWine introduced the four-level advisory system July 2.... Each county is graded on seven criteria. Meeting none or one of the criteria places a county on Level 1 yellow; two or three on Level 2 orange; four or five on Level 3 red; and six or seven on Level 4 purple. No county has ever been placed on purple alert....* 4. Emergency rooms - Alert triggered when there is an increase in visits for COVID-like symptoms or a diagnosis for five straight days at any point in the last three weeks.
* 5. Doctor visits - Alert triggered when there is an increase in out-patient visits resulting in confirmed cases or suspected diagnosis for COVID-19 for five straight days at any point in the last three weeks.

OMG......doctor's visits!!!!! Triggered......because of OUTPATIENT visits......because of confirmed or suspected China Flu infections......!!!!!
Meanwhile, how are their ICU rates doing??
No wonder this idiot Gov was booed, at the Trump rally, the other night.
.
If only Ohio had a Governor whose father was a mailman.
I had to wear a mask today for about four hours for a work function outside of my work from home situation.
I have been coughing ever since and have a headache and my nose feels like it had cotton wadding in it.
I don’t think I have Covid. I think I have maskitis.
But don’t my symptoms sound like Covid? If I were a hypochondriac, I would go to urgent care tomorrow. Instead, I am going to take Sudafed, eat chicken fingers with hot pepper sauce, and drink tea.
Cuyahoga has almost no illness. Cleveland, the largest population in The county has had zero deaths and only like 10-20 positive tests a day, for two weeks now. IOW an orange rating means there is nothing there. Hospitals are only busy because of pent up non-COVID demand. Admissions levels are just normal.
That is the true indicator.
This Gov is out of line and off his rocker.
I hope the good people of OH stand up to him.
TX Gov Abbott is not that great, on the re-opening of TX, either. Better than DeWine, but still doesn’t have TX fully open....with our hospitalization and death rates also low to nil.
I voted for De-whiner. He was still the best worst choice and would again. That being said, I hope he realizes one and done is best for him and the Ohio Republican party. The party is already reeling from the Larry Householder scandal.
:-)
The cashier, at my grocery store, earlier today, was about to pass out, today.
I feel so sorry for folks who have to wear these absurd masks, for hours on end, because they have no choice....they have to work.
I find myself going to restaurants far too much these days just so I can leave a really good tip.
I’m all for targeted, local actions. Doesn’t seem appropriately targeted.
Maybe let the locals have some say in the response.
Or would that offend the Governor’s hubris?
I’m in PA, so I can’t really talk any trash.
I’ll see your Pennsylvania and raise you a California.
OHIO PING!
Please let me know if you want on or off the Ohio Ping list.

Damn, you win.
We’ve been doing curbside, during all of this, at our fave restaurants, and giving them really nice tips.
I know most had had to cut their waitstaff.
Hoping they build back up to pre-China Flu level of staff, soon.
Now that restaurants are opened up to 75% (woo hoo), in TX....all of our top places sure seem PACKED (inside). Curbside is still doing great, too.
All Hail Mike DeWine “Mike The Divine” the glorious leader of Ohio......
Screw Dick(Richard) Dewine. I don’t wear a mask because he says I have to.
I wouldn’t surprise me if he was assassinated.
On Jan..5th he will be 74...his ENERGY LEFT HIM TEN YEARS AGO...
AGE MATTERS...AND THERE NEEDS TO BE A LIMIT...70 AND DONE...Sick and tired of seeing these 80 and 90 years old in the US CONGRESS and other powerful political positions...BOTH PARTIES...enough is enough...
Joe Biden who will be 78 a couple weeks after the election, with a serious medical History, should never be considered for any job...PERIOD.
AGE MATTERS...WAKE UP VOTERS...
(jmo and I'm sticking to it...)
I guess Trump has to go, too.
Sorry, the last of a completely sane generation is in that age range. Im not letting them go. If they seem to have problems, sure, dont vote for them.
When the oldest (worst) Baby Boomers get firmly in that range, then you can cut off service at 70.
